Trail work!

Meet at Lot C
Working on new trail from lot C to fire road. All machine work is done we are now finishing up all the hand tool work.

JORBA will be hosting a volunteer trail work day at Ringwood State Park this Sunday, October 15. Meet 8:30 am in Lot C or at the worksite after 9. We will be doing finish work on new trail out of Lot C most the day. Volunteers are free to come and go as their time allows. Wear sturdy shoes and gloves.

❗ Skylands Parking Lot C will be closed from Thursday, October 5 through Thursday, October 12, 2023, for authorized trail work in the area.

🚶‍♀️🚶Hikers wishing to access the pink-blazed Five Ponds Loop Trail during this time may do so via the white-blazed Crossover Trail from Skylands Parking Lot A, which adds .35 miles in each direction.

🍁 Parking will likely be limited this holiday weekend in this and other areas, so please try to come early in the day, or plan a backup hike just in case.

Dear JORBA supporters - the weather is trending the wrong way, and we've come to the unfortunate conclusion that the 2023 NJ Mountain Bike Festival scheduled for September 24 is canceled. This is not a decision we took lightly, but felt it was best for the safety of our riders, vendors, venue, and volunteers. If you registered through BikeReg, look for a communication shortly regarding refunds.

As always, thanks for your support of JORBA. We're already planning for next year, so stay tuned!

Good news! Our friends at Trek are bringing some e-bike demos to the Festival this weekend, and are even doing an e-bike demo ride! ❗️ There will be a $5 Event Parking Fee in effect on Sunday, September 24, 2023, during the NJ Mountain Bike Festival for all vehicles entering the Shepherd Lake area.

🚶‍♀️Visitors wishing to enjoy the park without paying the fee may visit the Ringwood Manor (picnicking, historic tours, trail access) or Skylands (botanical gardens, trail access) sections of the park instead.

🚣‍♂️ The Shepherd Lake Boat Launch and Boat Launch Parking Lot will be closed to facilitate the event. Boaters may wish to visit Monksville Reservoir or Green Turtle Pond - both within nearby Long Pond Ironworks State Park - instead.

🚧 Beginning this weekend, the Skylands Road gate will be closed on weekends and holidays. Please use the Morris Road entrance during normal park hours (8 a.m. - 8 p.m.).
