Join us for an afternoon of connection, conversation, and community support as the G.R.I.T. Mentoring Program partners with Somerset County Local Management Board and Learning Support for a Community Mental Health Awareness Day at Washington High School & Academy on Tuesday, June 2, at 3:00 PM.

This event is more than just food, games, live music with a DJ, and door prizes. It’s about creating a safe space for meaningful conversations, raising awareness, and connecting our youth, families, and community with valuable mental health resources and support services.

Mental wellness matters, and together we can help break the stigma, promote open dialogue, and remind each other that no one has to navigate life’s challenges alone.

Come out, have fun, build community, and be part of the conversation. 💙

A great day spent sharing the platform with male mentors who poured wisdom, encouragement, and real-life experiences into the lives of our male youth. It was truly an honor to serve as a panelist for “Building Kings,” a powerful EMBODI event hosted by the Princess Anne Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

These conversations matter. Our young men need spaces where they are seen, heard, encouraged, and challenged to walk boldly in purpose, leadership, and excellence.

Special appreciation to Founder Tony Morton, Sr., and the other panelists for their commitment to mentoring and uplifting the next generation. Grateful for every organizer, volunteer, and young man who showed up and contributed to the experience.

The G.R.I.T. Mentoring Program will continue to collaborate and support opportunities that inspire growth, accountability, leadership, and positive pathways for our future kings.

Our founder, Tony Morton, will be one of the panelist today at “ Building Kings”. See the flyer for details.

Young Men: Seeking a Better Path

More than just an event — it was an opportunity to pour into others.

Yesterday's program included fellowship and shared meals, featuring powerful speakers and team-building moments. Our young men were poured into, challenged, and uplifted.

This is what the G.R.I.T. Mentoring Program is about: guiding young men toward purpose, leadership, and a better path forward.

Every move you make right now matters.

The choices.
The people around you.
The direction you take.

G.R.I.T. is giving you game—not judgment. Guidance—not pressure.

Pull up. This one’s for you.

Not every lesson is taught in a classroom.

At G.R.I.T. Mentoring Program, our mentees are learning life in real time.

From exploring history and culture to engaging in real conversations about choices, leadership, and purpose, every experience is designed to stretch their thinking and expand their vision.

We believe exposure creates opportunity — and opportunity builds confidence.

This is how we develop mentees who are prepared, focused, and ready for what’s next.

💙 Thank you to our mentors, volunteers, and supporters who continue to invest in the future.

Stay connected — more impactful experiences are on the way.

G.R.I.T. Mentoring Program is committed to exposing our young men and women to experiences that educate, inspire, and broaden their perspective, and yesterday was no exception.

We had the privilege of taking 36 students from Washington Academy & High School Jaguars to Fort McHenry, where they explored the rich history of one of our nation’s most iconic landmarks. From learning about the defense of Baltimore during the War of 1812 to understanding the significance of the Star-Spangled Banner, our students connected history with purpose in meaningful ways.

Moments like these go beyond the classroom; they build awareness, pride, and a deeper appreciation for the sacrifices that helped shape our country.

We’re proud to continue creating opportunities that expand knowledge, build character, and inspire the next generation of leaders.

Stay tuned… more impactful experiences ahead!
