💙💜 Community is what happens when we choose to show up for one another. 💙💜

Women Of Endurance and Harry E. James of Hopewell City Public Schools are partnering to support a Hopewell mom of four whose home was recently set on fire. While this family is displaced and Mom is temporarily out of work, we have created a 2-week Meal Train to help make sure dinner is one less thing she has to worry about.

If you are able to provide a meal, send a gift card, or contribute toward food, every act of kindness matters. 🥹🙏🏿

On behalf of Women of Endurance, I want to extend my sincere gratitude to the leadership of Hopewell City Public Schools for truly standing in the gap for us.

Due to flooding from recent storms in Hopewell, our original venue at the John Randolph Foundation was no longer available for From the Capitol to the Community. In a moment that could have easily created disruption, Hopewell City Public Schools and their leadership stepped in and made the process of transitioning to a new venue seamless.

Because of their support, we are grateful to announce that the event will now be held at:

📍Carter G. Woodson Middle School
*Inside The Reverend Curtis Harris Library*

As Founder of Women of Endurance, I do not take this kind of community partnership lightly. It is a powerful reminder of what can happen when institutions, organizations, and leaders work together with a shared commitment to serving the community.

Thank you, Hopewell City Public Schools, for your responsiveness, partnership, and willingness to help us continue this important conversation without missing a beat.

We look forward to welcoming our community to the new venue. 💜

Happy Birthday to Our Amazing Director of Operations Eleisha Davis

I should have done this yesterday. Please accept my apologies🥰🥰🥰 we love you lady.

Today, we celebrate someone truly special—our Director of Operations, a woman who wears so many hats and somehow continues to show up with love, dedication, and a heart for people.

You are so much more than a title or a position. You are the person who steps in when something needs to be done, the person who helps keep things moving, the person who listens, encourages, supports, and gives so much of yourself to make Women of Endurance better.

Your presence has made a difference in ways that may not always be spoken, but they are certainly felt. Everyone who crosses paths with you is blessed by your kindness, your strength, your willingness to help, and simply by who you are.

On your birthday, we want you to know that you are valued, appreciated, respected, and deeply loved. We pray this new year of life brings you the same joy, encouragement, and love that you so freely give to others.

May God continue to cover you, strengthen you, bless the work of your hands, and remind you that you don't have to carry every hat all the time. Today, put them all down and simply allow yourself to be celebrated!

Happy Birthday to an incredible woman and an invaluable part of the Women of Endurance family. 🩷🩷🩷

We celebrate YOU today and always!
With love and appreciation,
Women of Endurance 🎂🎂🎂🥰🥰🥰🎂🎂🎂😍🥰🥰

🚨 URGENT: HELP US GET A MOM & HER CHILDREN HOME TODAY 🚨

Women of Endurance is currently supporting a single mother who survived domestic violence and fled with her children—her 7-year-old and 27-week-old baby.

She has been staying in a hotel while working, caring for her children, getting the newborn in daycare, she went back to work before she was medically approved to, her oldest daughter just went back to school in hopewell- with everything that was required, and doing everything she can to rebuild their lives.

Today is supposed to be a NEW BEGINNING. 🏡💜

She has been approved for an apartment and was scheduled to move in August 3rd. However, after leaving the abusive relationship, she learned that her former partner had stopped paying the gas bill- he is now nowhere to be found.

The balance owed to Columbia Gas was $3,283.

This mama has already paid $1,700 herself from her savings and earnings. Social Services is unable to assist due to her making $37.00 over the threshold for a household of 3.

She now has $1,583 remaining, and if the balance can be paid by 3:00 PM TODAY, Columbia Gas can restore service today and her landlord will allow her and her children to move into their new home.

Without gas service, she will have to remain in the hotel and continue paying hotel expenses.

I am pledging $500 toward the remaining balance.

That means we need our community to help us raise the final:

❤️ $1,083

TODAY.

This is what helping a survivor rebuild looks like.

Sometimes leaving is only the first step. After the escape comes deposits, utilities, childcare, transportation, school supplies, housing requirements, and the financial aftermath abuse leaves behind.

She has done her part.

She worked.
She saved.
She paid $1,700.
She secured housing.
She protected her babies.
She kept going.

Now she just needs a community to help her cross the finish line.

Our goal is simple:

Get this mama and her babies HOME TODAY.

If you are able to give—$10, $20, $50, $100—please help us close this $1,083 gap before 3:00 PM.

Happy World Breastfeeding Week.

As a mom of four and a maternal health provider, I’ve lived both sides of this work — the personal journey and the professional mission. I’ve nursed each of my babies up to 2–2.5 years, and my youngest is still nursing at 10 months.

Every journey came with real challenges: tongue ties, shallow latches, bottle refusal. None of it was “easy,” but all of it was possible with the right support.

This week is a reminder that breastfeeding success isn’t about perfection — it’s about access, guidance, and community. When families are supported, outcomes change, and those obstacles turn into stepping stones along your jouney. If you are a parent and in the thick of it, hang on,seek support, you CAN do it!

We are incredibly grateful to CVS Health and Aetna for awarding Women of Endurance a Community Grant!

This investment will allow us to be even more intentional in our maternal health efforts—specifically supporting postpartum mothers who are too often expected to care for everyone else while quietly navigating their own physical, emotional, and financial needs.

Through this partnership, we can continue creating softer landings for mothers by providing essential postpartum supplies, dignity-centered support, education, resources, and meaningful connections to care.

Thank you, CVS Health and Aetna, for believing in our mission and investing in healthier mothers, healthier babies, and stronger communities. We are excited about the work ahead! 🤱🏽✨

Because caring for the baby must also include caring for Mama, too.
