Our friends at Naturally Yours Barber & Beauty Salon And School INC. (NYBBSS) is proud to announce that they accept all participants enrolled in both

😇SNAP Employment & Training (E&T) Program
This federally funded program provides SNAP participants with access to skills training, education, and essential support services like transportation and childcare. The goal is to reduce barriers to employment and empower participants to move forward in their careers.

😇Virginia Initiative for Education and Work (VIEW) VIEW supports individuals receiving TANF and TANF-UP benefits by offering employment, education, and training opportunities. The program helps participants overcome obstacles, gain meaningful work experience, and develop the skills needed to support themselves and their families.

If you’re enrolled in SNAP E&T or VIEW, you may qualify to attend NYBBSS at no cost to you!

💜🩵 A LOVING REMINDER FROM WOMEN OF ENDURANCE: DIGNITY MATTERS💜🩵

First, we want to say THANK YOU! 🙏🏾

Every donation, every act of kindness, and every person who chooses to support our mission is truly a blessing. Your generosity allows Women of Endurance to continue inspiring, assisting, and empowering women and families throughout our community.

As we continue growing and serving more families, we want to lovingly remind our supporters that how we give is just as important as what we give. 💜

The women and families we serve may be navigating difficult seasons, but their circumstances never diminish their worth, dignity, or humanity.

We believe that every donation should be given with the same love, care, and consideration we would extend to our own family. Everyone deserves to receive items that are clean, comfortable, and in good condition.

✨ Effective immediately, we are updating our donation guidelines:

💜 All clothing donations must be clean, freshly laundered, and in good, wearable condition.

🩵 All donations must be BAGGED & TAGGED with clothing sizes to help our team organize and distribute items efficiently.

💜 Undergarments must be BRAND NEW.

🩵 Please refrain from donating clothing that is torn, heavily stained, has an unpleasant odor, or is no longer suitable to wear.

💜 All donation drop-offs must be scheduled through the Contact Us section of our website.

Please know that these guidelines are shared with love, not judgment. We deeply appreciate every heart that desires to give. Our goal is simply to ensure that every donation is a blessing that can be received with comfort, confidence, and dignity.

Before donating, we gently ask you to consider one question:

❤️ "Would I give this to someone I love?"

If the answer is no, we kindly ask that you reconsider that particular item.

Because giving is about more than meeting a need. It's about reminding someone that they are seen, valued, loved, and worthy of kindness. 💕

📖 Matthew 25:36 reminds us of the importance of caring for others with compassion and love.

At Women of Endurance, we believe that EVERY person deserves dignity, regardless of their circumstances.

We Hope This Gives Clarity

Today, Women of Endurance received the largest single donation in our organization’s history.

Sarah reached out to our Executive Director, NaQuetta Mitchell, and arranged to drop off a gift on behalf of an anonymous donor from outside of Virginia.

That gift was a $10,000 grant for general operating support. 🥹

As a Board, we are incredibly grateful for what this moment represents.

Someone miles away saw the work.
Believed in the mission.
And chose to invest in Women of Endurance in a major way.

General operating support allows us to strengthen the foundation behind the work you see every day—from programs and outreach to emergency support, operations, capacity, and the systems that help us serve women and families well.

To our anonymous donor: thank you for believing in this mission and trusting Women of Endurance with your generosity.

Today, September 25th, Women of Endurance remembers every child whose life was taken by violence and every family carrying the weight of that loss. 💜

Some grief changes you forever. There are empty seats, missed milestones, birthdays that feel different, and moments when one memory can bring both a smile and tears. Today, we honor those children by remembering their names, their stories, their laughter, and the lives they should still be living.

Through our Dear Mama Initiative, we have stood with mothers grieving the loss of a child to gun violence—reminding them that they do not have to carry this pain alone.

Their names matter. Their lives mattered. Their families still matter.

💜 THANK YOU, KIWANIS! 💜

On behalf of Women of Endurance- our founder went last week to thank this amazing organization in person for the grant she secured for us, we never take community support for granted. For the second year in a row, Kiwanis Club of Petersburg has chosen to invest in our Wrapped With Love Christmas celebration, and we are incredibly grateful.

This event allows us to surround children who have a parent who is deceased or incarcerated with gifts, a warm meal provided by Sunlight-Williams Elks Lodge #1558 , joy, and the reminder that their community sees them, loves them, and has not forgotten them. 💜🎄🎁

Thank you, Kiwanis, for believing in our mission and helping us continue this HeartWork.

And there is still room at the table! We are still welcoming volunteers, sponsors, donors, and community partners who want to help make Wrapped With Love special for the children we will serve.

📣 National Diaper Need Awareness Week | September 14–20 📣

A clean diaper is a basic need—not a luxury. Yet -1 in 2 families in the United States struggles to afford enough diapers for their children.

Diaper need is about so much more than diapers. When a parent is forced to choose between diapers and food, rent, transportation, or keeping the lights on, the well-being of the entire family is impacted.

And this week, we want our community to know something we are incredibly proud of:

💜 Women Of Endurance, through Ruth’s Closet, is part of the Virginia Diaper Bank Network and serves families across Hopewell, Petersburg, and Prince George. We are honored to help make sure families in our community have access to something every baby deserves—clean, dry diapers. 💜

For us, this work is about dignity. It is about easing one more burden for a mother who may already be carrying more than anyone realizes. It is about healthier babies, supported parents, and stronger families.
