Our first ever in-person 5K Trap, Neuter Run was a blast! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Thank you to everyone who ran, walked, and hungout with us to help support our trap-neuter-return program! We had some real athletes show up, including a tripod pup and some adoptable kittens in baby carriages. 👶

Do you think we should do this all over again next year? 👀😻

And a special shout out to:
☕️VigilanteCoffee for the coffee!
🥨 for the snacks
👚👕BaseCamp DC for the best shirt and sign-making services

and all of YOU for helping making this 🌧️ day so special!

Bill, one of our longest resident adoptable kitties, finally found the perfect 🏠!

It took 304 days for this handsome guy to find the right place for him, and he landed somewhere he’s already quite comfortable…with his foster family!

If you swipe through the photos (starting with photo 4), you’ll see how dramatically Bill transformed since we got him in our care.

This lil dude had no business being outside in such bad shape. We suspected he was suffering from an autoimmune condition that caused a really bad, painful skin rash. After we brought him in, we spent months rehabilitating him while helping him learn to love and trust us. We had a whole team of fosters, including several longterm fosters, who helped this guy thrive and become his best self!

Bill is a senior who will require meds his whole life, and we’re so happy he ended up with an understanding adopter who gives him the love he deserves🥲.

Step 1️⃣ for becoming a trap-neuter-return volunteer usually starts with a cat like Loki.

Roxana, one of our amazing TNR volunteers, has worked with ACLR to spay and neuter her colony of 9 cats. Swipe ➡️ to see how she got started, and how it’s going now. 🧡

Thanks so much for everyone who came out to our amazing Trap Neuter Run 5k this weekend! Your support is critical for helping us fund our TNR program, which supports community cat caretakers like Roxana.

We’re an all-volunteer-run rescue, and any amount of support goes a long way toward helping us save PG County cats. Make a difference: acatsliferescue.org/donate

❗️You heard it here first: You can sign up DAY OF at the ACLR Trap, Neuter, RUN 5k this Saturday Oct. 3!

Whether you walk or run, our 5K path takes you along areas that ACLR has worked hard to TNR over the years. Along the way, you’ll see some signs about the many cats we’ve saved through our TNR program, including Freddie, Kami and Sabrina. 👀

You’ll have to meet us there if you want to learn more!

📍The 5K is at Heurich Park in Hyattsville
⏰We have a loose start time of 9 a.m., but as this isn’t a timed event you can join any time around then!
👚👕T-shirts are still available if you show up day-of
🐱BONUS: We’ll have some doptable cats and kittens there to greet you after your 5K journey 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Will we see you there? Let us know ⬇️

Our 2026 ACLR Garden Party Fundraiser was such a great success! 🎵🍷🌸

Did you miss us? Don’t worry—we’ve got another opportunity for you to hang and support cats at our Trap-Neuter-Run 5k next weekend (we have day-of sign-ups!) Swipe to the last image to learn more 🤭👟

Before we get ahead of ourselves, let’s recap the garden party:

🎨 and created amazing live paintings for our raffle!

🎵Listen Up! played some garden party tunes while we sipped our w**e and snacked on cat cookies.

🍪One of our volunteers Barb, made cat-shaped cookies. Plus, a local bakery .mexicanbakery who we’ve helped with TNR made colorful conchas!

It took a whole team to pull this event together 🫡. Shout out to our amazing volunteers for hosting and bartending, setting up, cleaning up, planning, and keeping things running! And the best part is: all of the proceeds for this event go toward ACLR cats. 😃
