Cornerstone Southern Maryland

Cornerstone is a community of Bearers of Hope, a dedicated team of behavioral health professionals, clinicians, case managers, and advocates walking beside individuals and families living with serious mental illness, behavioral health challenges, and co-occurring substance use disorders.

What began more than 50 years ago as a small, faith-based effort to provide safe and supportive housing has grown into a comprehensive system of integrated behavioral health care—supporting people across Montgomery, Calvert, Charles, and St. Mary’s Counties.

Our continuum of care spans the entire lifespan, beginning with early intervention in childhood, when timely support can change a life’s trajectory. We help children manage big emotions safely, guide teens through trauma, support adults in recovery as they rebuild stability and employment, and empower older adults to maintain independence while managing their mental health.

From outpatient therapy and medication management to supported employment, residential programs, and creative spaces like Studio In-Sight, Cornerstone provides coordinated, person-centered care that addresses the whole person—mind, body, and community.
