So much of what we enjoy today came because somebody before us was willing to stand, to sacrifice, to organize, to march, and to fight for rights they knew they deserved, even when the road was hard. We carry that legacy with us, and we have a responsibility not to let that torch go dim.
On Saturday, May 16, I’m inviting our community to join us as we travel to the State Capitol in Montgomery to stand together, make our voices heard, and continue the work of civic engagement and advocacy.
This is bigger than a bus ride.
This is about showing up for our future while honoring the shoulders we stand on.
The City of Prichard will depart at 10:00 AM from Food Champs, 3447 St. Stephens Road in Mobile, and we’ll return from Montgomery at 5:00 PM. Please arrive by 9:30 AM.
Seating is limited and available on a first come, first served basis, so if you feel called to be part of this moment, I encourage you to register as soon as possible. Please note that each person must complete their own registration form, riders under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian, and children under 3 cannot be accommodated.
Our mothers and fathers, and grandmothers and grandfathers, and uncles, and aunts, and cousins, and neighbors marched so we could have a voice.
NOW it’s our turn to use it!
I hope you’ll stand with us.
