The Carbon & Emery Senior Safety Program has been providing durable medical equipment such as shower chairs, toilet risers, and wheel chairs to our local seniors for the past few decades. The equipment is vital to the safety and ongoing health & quality of life for the residents in the carbon & emery counties. Unfortunately, this equipment is frequently out of reach for many of our local seniors.
In the past, this program has been federally founded and the equipment was obtained by the South East Utah Health Department, and then dispersed with training for use of the equipment by our local occupational therapists. Sadly, all of the founding for this program was recently cut by the government, leaving our seniors at risk for falls and unable to live independently. The "Shoot for Senior Safety" trap shoot is a fundraiser that has been set up by the SEUHD, local health care institutions, the Helper Gun Club and local therapists in an effort to raise founds to supplement this program.
