First time on a horse for 2 of these three riders 😊 they all did really well, especially that little one! Kiowa, at 25 years old, is one of the fastest, grittiest horses on the rodeo team...and she is who I put all of my first time, nervous, or special needs riders on. She is the best. When I met her as a 6 year old, I never would have imagined the horse she would become. ❤️

Aaannnnnd, $450 later we have a new radiator and coolant in my truck 🥴 You may remember, the grey truck got a new radiator a month ago.

That said, we just bought hay last weekend and only had enough donations to cover about a third of it so that was another $400. Definitely feeling a pinch after the truck repair.

We recently dewormed, which was another large expense. Long story short, we really need a successful $5 Friday to get the supplements and meds covered. The seniors joint supplement, a few that need gastric meds, and we need to purchase salt blocks for paddocks.

We were missing 1 kid Saturday evening but we got a pretty good picture of the rest of the rodeo team kids and I 😊 These kids work really hard to learn and practice good horsemanship!

Saturday morning was interesting 🤣 It was a heck of a lightning show while we did chores early and we hit the road at 6:45 am to head to youth rodeo at Clearwater. We got there in time for it to open up and POUR.

They delayed start time and we waited it out. All of the kids did a fantastic job in the mud and muck, all of them choosing to take a slower time rather than risk their horse getting hurt from slipping.

We then went over to Haysville for the year end finals. We built a hot fence corral and grazed them for a few hours while we hung out in the shade. The fun show went great with a few kids hitting a personal best!

We got home, put horses away, did chores, and fell into bed by about 2:15 am. Yesterday, we got both square bales and round bales of hay. I'm going to be honest, square bales didn't get all the way unloaded. I was in bed by 9 pm, lol. I never feel older than the Sunday after a Saturday double header...unless its the Sunday after a Friday night show with a double header Saturday 🤣

Happy Friday! I got this cool picture of a garden spider last night. I love these guys! Not only do they eat lots of disgusting moths and stuff, they are huge and brightly colored 😉 meaning they are NOT surprise spiders!
