Mountain Comprehensive Care Center’s Therapeutic Foster Care program is licensed with the state of Kentucky through the Office of Inspector General (OIG), and a member of the Children Alliance Program. We provide foster care and adoption services, serving many counties through our regional Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC) offices. MCCC’s Therapeutic Foster Care program strives to provide quality serv

ices and support to maintain placement stability, offer therapeutic settings, help youth work toward permanency, and to establish a support system for foster parents and youth while in care. If you’ve ever reached out about becoming a foster parent in the Hazard area, chances are Christy was one of the first friendly faces you met. She has a gift for making people feel welcome, answering questions with patience, and helping families feel confident as they begin their foster care journey. As a Recruitment & Certification Specialist, Christy walks alongside prospective foster parents from that very first conversation through the certification process, celebrating every milestone along the way. She believes that every new foster home has the potential to change a child’s life, and her passion for connecting caring families with children who need them shines through in everything she does. Her heart for people, encouraging spirit, and nearly nine years of dedication have made a lasting impact on countless children and families, and we’re thankful to have her on our team. 💙

If you've ever called the office, needed paperwork, had a billing question, needed something tracked down, or wondered how something got done, there's a good chance Elizabeth had a hand in it. She wears a lot of hats at Mountain Therapeutic Foster Care and somehow manages to keep all of them balanced. From administrative duties and billing to helping staff, supporting foster families, and jumping in wherever she's needed, Elizabeth is often the glue that helps hold everything together behind the scenes. She's dependable, hardworking, and always willing to tackle whatever challenge lands on her desk. While she may not always be front and center, her impact can be felt throughout our entire program, and we're incredibly thankful for all she does each day. 💙

✨ Employee Spotlight: Sydney Risner ✨

If you've met Sydney, chances are you've seen her smiling, heard her laughing, or walked away feeling a little better than when the conversation started. As a Service Coordinator with Mountain Therapeutic Foster Care, she spends her days checking in on youth, supporting foster families, coordinating services, and making sure children have the resources and support they need to thrive. Sydney has a natural ability to connect with people and make them feel comfortable, whether she's helping a family through a difficult situation or celebrating a child's accomplishments. She believes every young person deserves to have someone in their corner, and she works hard to be that person for the children and families she serves. Her positive attitude, caring heart, and genuine passion for helping others make her an incredible part of our team. 💙

If you've ever met Kayla, you know she brings a little bit of laughter wherever she goes. She believes that sometimes the best way to connect with someone is simply by being genuine, meeting them where they are, and reminding them they don't have to face life's challenges alone. As a therapist with Mountain Therapeutic Foster Care, Kayla works closely with children, youth, and families as they navigate difficult situations, helping them build trust, develop coping skills, and find hope during challenging times. Grey wears a lot of hats at Mountain Therapeutic Foster Care. If you've ever inquired about becoming a foster parent, there's a good chance you've worked with him during the certification process. He also serves as our Independent Living Coordinator, helping youth develop the skills, confidence, and resources they need as they prepare for adulthood. Whether he's recruiting foster families, supporting youth, coordinating services, or helping solve everyday challenges, Grey's focus is always on helping children and families succeed. What he enjoys most is watching youth and families overcome obstacles, build connections, reach their goals, and discover strengths they didn't know they had. Being even a small part of that journey is what makes this work so meaningful to him. 💙
