Webster County Family Connection will not meet on May 28. The next meeting will be held June 25 at the Webster County Community Center, 40 Cemetery Road, Preston, GA.
The Back-to-School Splash is set for Saturday, August 1 from 10 AM to 3 PM at the Community Center, and we’re asking for help with school supplies. You’re also welcome to set up a booth to share your services with the community.
Our summer food program, in partnership with the Black Lotus Project from Atlanta, began May 18 and will continue each Wednesday from 12 to 1 PM, serving free groceries to at least 100 children from birth to age 18.
The Ministerial Alliance of Webster County (MAWC) meets again on June 22 from 12 to 1 PM, and all local ministers and church representatives are invited.
The Senior Produce Truck from Feeding the Valley visits every fourth Tuesday from 10 to 11 AM, and the Mobile Food Pantry delivers on the second Tuesday each month from 9 to 11 AM. Feeding the Valley also provides seniors with 4 to 5 frozen meals every Monday.
Thriftin in Preston continues to grow as we apply for 501C-3 status to become a full non-profit, with all proceeds helping families in need.
We look forward to seeing everyone June 25 for our next collaborative meeting and encourage participation in any of our programs.
