The Minnesota Beef Council, Minnesota State Cattlemen’s Association and Minnesota Cattlewomen’s Association are pleased to announce the 2014 Minnesota Beef Ambassador contest, which will be held in conjunction with the Minnesota Beef Expo on Thursday, October 16, 2014 with registration at 2:30 p.m. followed by a short orientation with the contest to start at 3 p.m. The contest will take place at the CHS Miracle of Birth Center at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds located at 1750 Judson Ave. St. Paul, MN 55108.



The Minnesota Beef Ambassador Program provides an opportunity for youth ages 13-19 to educate consumers and students about beef nutrition, food safety and stewardship practices of beef farmers and ranchers.

We are working on the 6th Annual Southeast Minnesota 4-H Project Bowl Invitational plans and were wondering if you would be available to assist us as a judge or a moderator. This year's invitational will be held on Saturday, January 25th at the Heintz Center in Rochester. We would ask you to arrive by 9:00 for a brief orientation before the contest begins. The number of teams will determine the length of the contest, but we are planning to be done early afternoon. In your reply, if you are able to assist us, please indicate which of the following project areas you would prefer assisting with: Dairy, General Livestock, Horse, Rabbit, Poultry, Dog. Each year the Gopher Dairy Club at the University of Minnesota organizes a Dairy Camp for dairy youth grades 6 - 11. The camp is filled with great activities including hands on workshops with professional fitters on how to fit and groom your 4-H animals. Other educational workshops include sessions on dairy food science made fun to understand and other topics all related to the 4-H dairy experience. There is plenty of time for fun with a trip to a water park and a St. Paul Saints baseball game. The dates for the 2013 camp are June 9-11, 2013 on the St. Paul Campus. At only $60, this is one of the most reasonably priced camps you will attend. We hope you will consider attending, perhaps bringing a carload from your area. It will be a 4-H experience you will never regret.
