Saturday September 26th, Rotary Club of Prescott members and family attended the Alzheimer's Walk-a-thon fundraiser held at the Prescott Valley Civic Center, contributing almost $1,000 to the event. Music, giveaways, food, Alzheimer's disease impact, and a Promise Garden of Flowers enhanced the event.

On Thursday September 10, Prescott Rotarians gathered at the Prescott Valley Civic Center to help install American flags at the Healing Field to honor the lives lost in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. There are 2,977 flags for those that died on 9/11 and
19 representing the Granite Mountain Hotshot firefighters who died on June 30, 2013. The flags will be up this week and will be taken down on Saturday September 19th.
Throughout the week Rootarians will also be involved in maintaining the flags, Boots of the Firefighters, and Teddy Bears at the flags of the 8 children who died. Each flag is personalized with a tag and the name and personal information of each individual.
It is a memorable and moving exhibit to honor and remember those lives that were lost.

At our August 6th meeting we had two speakers. Joe Sweeney, 5495 District Governor, was introduced and gave an overview of the DG responsibilities. Joe was a former member of our club and it was an honor to have him speak as our current DG.
Our other speaker was Brenda Vento, a bat remediation specialist. She rescues bats and endeavors to rehabilitate them so them can be released. Bats can eat 1000 insects in one hour and they save the agricultural community and estimated $33-57 Billion a year. They are significantly declining in population, but it is obvious how important they are to our eco system and economy. If you find an injured bat, contact Brenda.

Our Rotary Club of Prescott hosted a picnic for Veterans from the Bob Stump VA medical center at Goldwater Lake on Saturday July 25th. We had fishing, hiking, volleyball, and corn hole activities. And we had a short exercise of Quigong which is similar to tai chi. During lunch the Ramada was filled with conversation as we enjoyed the grilled burgers and hot dogs with the background thunderstorm.

As you can see we had alot of fun and laughter on Saturday, June 20th as Anne Wenzel was installed as our Rotary Club of Prescott 2026-27 President. Anne then installed her incoming officers:
Jacque Price- Treasurer, Dave Lewerke- Membership, Mary Ann Milliron- Stryker and Sabrina Johnson as Community Service, and Candace Tomlinson- Club Service.
