🎶 NBC Chorus rehearsal was THE place to be last night! 🎶
We managed to accomplish more than just dusting off our Christmas repertoire in preparation for the upcoming holiday season.🌲🌟 We also took a break to celebrate our members who had birthdays this past quarter. 🎂🎊
There were creative ice cream treats from DQ, plenty of singing, lots of laughter, and the kind of friendship that makes you look forward to getting together week after week. (Okay, the DQ treats might have helped a little, too! 🍦😂)
Making music together is a wonderful thing, and sharing laughter, friendship, and everyday moments along the way is a priceless treasure. We're pretty lucky to have found our people, our tribe... the ones who enjoy singing the notes, laughing at the bloopers, celebrating life's milestones, and simply spending time together.
And making some beautiful music along the way? Well, that's the icing on the cake! 🎶❤️🎂

We had a wonderful time singing for the Hale Senior Center recently, and let us just say…

BEST☆AUDIENCE☆EVER! 🎶❤️🎶❤️🎶❤️🎶❤️🎶

There’s nothing better than seeing an audience completely engaged in our performance ~ singing along with every word, laughing at our jokes, and joining right in with our dialogue. We certainly felt the joy in the room! And the potluck dinner they shared with us wasn’t half bad, either! 😉
(I understate… it was absolutely scrumptious!!)

Thank you, Hale Senior Center, for welcoming Northern Blend Chorus and making our visit such a fun and memorable one. We loved sharing our music with you! 🎶

⭐ Celebrating 25 Years! ⭐
Our very own Bethany Burghdorf was honored this weekend at the Borderlakes Region 2 Fall Regional Weekend with her 25-Year Longevity Star Pin! 🎶💙
Twenty-five years of friendship, music, memories, and sharing the joy of harmony is certainly something worth celebrating!
Congratulations, Beth! We are so grateful to have you as part of the Northern Blend family and look forward to many more years of singing together! ❤️🎶

We had a wonderful afternoon yesterday performing at the Paul Bunyan Festival in Oscoda! 🌲🎶
We were greeted by such a receptive and enthusiastic audience—and managed to overcome the challenge of projecting our voices through the brisk autumn breeze blowing directly in our faces! 😉
A huge thank-you to the Oscoda Chamber of Commerce for including Northern Blend Chorus in this awesome celebration of all things northwoods. We were delighted to be part of the fun!

💗 Catch ’Em Being Kind! 💗
Our most recent traveling “Catch ’em Being Kind” award pin has found a new home! Jamie, the current pin-holder, presented it to Bethany in recognition of the many ways she shares her kindness with her Northern Blend family.
Beth is a true and steadfast friend to anyone in the chorus who has a need. She is the first to visit someone in the hospital, provide a meal, check in with current and prospective members, bring treats to rehearsal, volunteer for fundraisers, make sure our members are remembered on their birthdays, and—well, the list goes on!
Beth has a way of generously spreading her caring heart throughout Northern Blend, often without fanfare and simply because that’s who she is. She truly embodies the meaning of “a friend indeed.” ❤️
Congratulations, Beth, on this very well-deserved recognition of your kindness! 🎉
And now the fun part… Beth will be keeping her eyes open for the next random act of kindness to catch! 👀💗

Three Generations, One Beautiful Gift of Music & Kindness ❤️🎶
One of NBC’s greatest joys of the summer of 2026 was being able to share our craft ~ and our love of barbershop music ~ with three generations of musicians!
Avery Lopez joined us, her mom and grandma, while she was home from college for the summer. As NBC began making plans for working the Ogemaw County Fair, Avery casually piped up and said she was “really good with a Cricut” and would love to make shirts for each of us so we could be easily identified at the fair.
And that’s exactly what she did!
Even while packing, preparing to head back to campus, and squeezing in all those last-minute summer things, Avery asked each of us for our shirt sizes. Then, with the help of Mom and Grandma, she headed to the local thrift store to gather shirts and got to work creating.
The result? These amazing, one-of-a-kind NBC shirts! 👕🎶
But the shirts are only part of the story. What makes them truly special is the generous, loving and helpful spirit behind them. Avery saw something that she wanted to do and simply said, “I can help!”—then put her talent to work for her NBC family.
That kind of thoughtfulness is a gift all its own. ❤️
Avery is back on campus now, and she is already greatly missed! But we’ll look forward to welcoming her back—and singing some holiday tunes with her—when she returns for winter break.
Thank you, Avery, for sharing your talent, your creativity and your beautiful spirit with Northern Blend Chorus. We’re pretty lucky to have you in our NBC family! ❤️🎶

Another year of NBC at the Ogemaw County Fair! 🎶🎡❤️
What a busy, fun-filled week! Our NBC family was everywhere—working the Bingo Barn, helping out in the kitchen, and sharing our music with the community by singing at the chapel in the Antique Village. 🎵
And then, when the work was finally done, it was time to R&R! 🍹🌴 We wrapped up the week relaxing and recouping at the R&R Tiki Bar, located at the lovely Lake Ogemaw home of our fantastic Bari, Ruth Ann. 🌊☀️
Lots of hard work, lots of laughter, lots of singing, and plenty of memories made along the way. That’s just how NBC does the fair! 💕🎶
Until next year, Ogemaw County Fair… thanks for another wonderful week! ❤️
