WHAT. A. DAY.

The 2026 Prescott’s Got Talent Jr. auditions were absolutely incredible! We had an amazing turnout of young performers who brought their voices, instruments, dance, creativity, personality and SO much courage to the stage and our judges were blown away by the talent in this community.

And when we say this year was close… we mean CLOSE!!!

The final scores in both divisions were incredibly tight. In the Junior Division, many of our Top 8 were separated by just tenths of a point and we even had a tie! Our judges had an incredibly difficult job ahead of them, because there truly wasn't a single audition yesterday that we didn't love.

To every young performer who walked through those doors and stepped onto our stage: THANK YOU. Thank you for sharing your talent with us. Thank you for taking a chance. Thank you for cheering each other on. And thank you for making audition day one of the most fun and entertaining days we've had all year!

Prescott has some seriously talented young artists and if yesterday was any indication, the future of the performing arts is very bright.

The official 2026 PGT Jr. Finalist announcement email will be going out this evening! Keep an eye on those inboxes…

AUDITIONING FOR PRESCOTT’S GOT TALENT JR.?
Audition are just around the corner on October 3, 2026 at The Cosmo Theatre, and we want every performer to walk in feeling prepared, confident, and ready to give their very best audition!

SINGERS:
Songs may not be performed a ca****la. Please find a karaoke/instrumental version of your song (many can be found on YouTube) and send us the link a few days before your audition.
We’ll have your track ready for you when you arrive and will provide music playback and a microphone. You just bring your voice and your performance!

BANDS & MUSICIANS:
We will provide a basic backline, including drums, amps, microphones, and a keyboard/piano. Musicians should bring their own individual instruments and any specialty equipment needed for their performance.

OTHER TALENTS:
This is a variety talent show, and we LOVE seeing all kinds of acts! If your talent requires any special equipment, setup, music, props, or other accommodations, please let us know in advance. We’ll do our best to make sure you have what you need for a great audition.

HOW WILL AUDITIONS BE SCORED?
We want performers to know exactly what our judges will be looking for! Prescott’s Got Talent Jr. is a variety competition, so every audition will be scored across five equally weighted categories:

✨ Stage Presence
✨ Creativity & Originality
✨ Technical Skill
✨ Entertainment Value
✨ Preparation & Ex*****on

As you prepare your act, think about how you can showcase all five categories. A great audition isn’t only about technical difficulty. We want to see what makes YOU and your talent memorable!

Not sure how your act fits the categories or how you can strengthen your audition? Reach out! We’d be happy to give you some pointers as you prepare.

Behind the Scenes: An Unforgettable Day on the Set of Criminal Minds

Recently, a group of our Prescott Conservatory young performers had an extraordinary opportunity to spend the day on the set of Criminal Minds, receiving the full behind-the-scenes experience of a working television production.

With the incredible generosity of Stacey Beneville, Erica Messer, and Glen Kershaw, our students were welcomed into a world most young performers only ever see on a screen.

They met members of the cast and crew, spoke with department heads about the many different careers that come together to create a television show, and asked thoughtful questions about everything from acting and directing to production, writing, camera work, and the business of entertainment.

And yes… they even got to sit around the iconic BAU round table! These kiddos also had the opportunity to run a scene from last season and, naturally, there was eventually a death and... well you theatre kids... they cannot resist a good stage death!

Experiences like this are exactly why we believe arts education should extend beyond the classroom and rehearsal studio. Young artists need opportunities to see the industry up close, meet the professionals who make it happen, ask questions, and begin imagining themselves as part of that world.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who opened the door and allowed our students to experience a day they will remember for years to come. And who knows where this kind of experience might lead them next? This is performing arts education. This is mentorship. This is inspiration. This is the Prescott Conservatory.
