Arizona Serve

Arizona Serve We connect passionate People to transformative projects to fight poverty. Poverty affects us all. As Martin Luther King Jr.

said, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” Currently, 15% of people in Arizona are living in poverty, including 24% of young children. Through alleviating poverty, we increase the potential of our whole community. Bringing people together is the best way to solve problems and overcome challenges. Our communities are safer, healthier and more prosperous when we know each other, h

elp each other and work with each other. Service strengthens the fabric of our community. Service cultivates people’s strengths, creates connections and relationships, and builds capacity and sustainability for community non-profits. Arizona Serve places AmeriCorps VISTA members in projects and organizations that work to fight poverty and improve their community’s quality of life. The work of VISTAs encompasses three main goal areas:

Social Welfare
Community Development
Civic Engagement

Our AmeriCorps VISTA members are placed in projects and organizations including schools, non-profit organizations, community groups and faith based organizations.

This Tuesday, we’re focusing on practicing a sustainable pace 🌿

Meaningful impact grows from steady, intentional effort. When we slow down enough to breathe, reset, and move with clarity, we protect our energy and strengthen the work ahead. A sustainable pace isn’t about doing less, it’s about showing up with purpose, presence, and care.

Whether it’s mentoring youth, supporting local nonprofits, or expanding access to vital resources, these acts of service build a more resilient, compassionate Arizona where we rise by rising together.

This past weekend, AmeriCorps VISTA Team Leader, Nour, volunteered with Art State Arizona, a nonprofit that supports artists all throughout the state🌵

Art State Arizona develops programs and hosts events that celebrate and encourage art, such as their Indoor Summer Art Festival which took place at the La Paloma Resort☀️

This 2-day festival featured more than 50 local artisans and included a wide array of fine art, jewelry, ceramics, woodworking, glass, photography, textiles, and more👩🏻‍🎨

Check out some of the pictures Nour was able to capture while assisting at the kid’s tote decorating table 🎨

This Tuesday, we’re taking a moment to celebrate the small wins 🌟

Those tiny steps forward keep momentum alive and remind your team that their efforts matter. When you notice and name the quiet progress, you help build a culture of encouragement and appreciation.

Mobilize Monday invites us to notice the small chances to help someone, that appear every day.

At Arizona Serve, AmeriCorps members show that meaningful service isn’t about waiting for the perfect moment, it’s about choosing to act in the small moments that strengthen our communities. Whether it’s offering support, sharing time, or lending skills, these everyday actions build a more connected, resilient Arizona where everyone moves forward together.
