As of May 23, 2026, the 2026 National Intercollegiate Flying Association National SAFECON has officially come to a close. The Golden Eagles Flight Team finished third overall in the nation and placed first in the ground events championship.
With multiple top-10 finishes and one individual national champion, we are incredibly proud of the effort and dedication our team showed throughout the competition. We would especially like to congratulate Southern Illinois University ( ) on an outstanding performance and their first-place national finish this year.
We also want to thank NIFA (.aero) and all of the volunteers and judges who made this year’s competition possible.
