Did you know the first Christmas card was printed in 1843?

Fed up with writing numerous Christmas greeting letters, Sir Henry Cole asked his local printer to design 1,000 cards which contained a merry verse and space for his signature.

By the 1880s, 5 million letters and cards were sent at Christmas and the first 'Post Early for Christmas' plea from the General Postmaster was issued ✉️

📸 Here's a photo from the Printing Shop at Blists Hill Victorian Town where a member of the team is getting some Christmas cards ready.
