We rarely make an ask…we rarely even post, but we do need your help. First let me tell you why. So much beautiful work is being done out here, mostly with human hearts but our horses are the real heroes. They do the most important work.
Each week we host dozens of grieved, traumatized and hurting hearts, from our local community and beyond. In the last few months alone, we hosted a group of 20 first responder widows from around the country, multiple grieving mothers who have recently lost children, children who have undergone attachment ruptures, and others who are diligently in pursuit of healing. So many people, so many stories, but the common thread among our guests is that each one carries a load that is heavy and painful. Many of the animals that are a part of our program have really hard stories too, I often believe it is part of what equips them to relate to the pain they encounter with each guest. Today, I am asking for your help to rescue a horse from a death he does not deserve. He is special. Young, gentle, healthy, but he comes from a bad situation. His fate would be slaughter, he was to be transported tomorrow, but we have chosen to rescue him. His ransom is $1250, but he will need so much more than that for his ongoing care. We have yet to determine whether he will work for the program. Time will tell but we will at very least keep him from that fate. Will you consider partnering with Three Willows Sanctuary so we can continue to provide not only healing programs to our hurting community, but also, excellent care for the horses? Feed bills, insurance, health/dental, all of it is costly. Investing in Three Willows is an investment in the healing of a hurting world. We love big out here, because that’s what the world needs more of but we can’t do it alone. A quote that has always stuck with me says, “whatever the question, love is the answer.” Can you partner with us in our venture to be love in this hurting world?
We appreciate you. The first photo is the horse that we are rescuing, the others are of various guests over the last few months and some of our hero horses. 💓
