SURFACE PREPARATION SOLUTIONS "THINKS GREEN"
We develop sustainable ideas and technological innovations that have the potential to provide substantial solutions to environmental woes and also help to solve the ecological problems in the world. The Electro-Magnetic Grit Blaster is a new patent-pending, green proprietary, non-contact electromagnetic particle accelerator for surface preparation and c

leaning of steel and other metallic and non-metallic surfaces using abrading particulate materials. It is designed to replace the current inefficient, environmentally challenged shot and air blasting systems. The technology’s features:

Power- The system can be powered by solar or can be plugged into a 220-volt outlet.-The technology qualifies for federal and state energy credits and grants. No Carbon Footprint: When this technology is incorporated into an operational system, it will not have a carbon footprint. Energy Efficient: This technology will produce energy savings of ninety percent (90%) or more when compared with the current surface preparation technologies. The system utilizes pulsed DC and capacitor storage to produce very largely, timed electromagnetic pulses from a high voltage, low current source. High voltages are produced at the point of use and are not transmitted over distances, which improves efficiency and downsizes transmission and control components designed to enhance the safety aspects of the system. The technology can be used with the patent-pending dual-energy technology to create the low voltage primary energy that is subsequently stepped up to high voltage at point-of-use. Maintenance: Current steel shot blasting technology works by throwing an abrasive mixture of steel shot and grit at a high velocity onto the surface being cleaned. This is achieved through centrifugal force by a wheel with removable paddle-type blades that revolve at a high speed. These systems using this technology require a high degree of maintenance cost. Due to the non-contact nature of the electro-magnetic technology, our system essentially has no moving parts to fail, maintenance is virtually eliminated. Blast Stream: The technology is designed to be able to use various nozzles to create an “oriented” blast stream, which means the technology can be scaled to prep any surface. This means it can blast any shape and can also be used in areas where the current “wheel” systems cannot operate such as the inside of tanks, pipes, etc. Size: The technology has the inherent scalability that allows it to be “building blocked” into a variety of sizes, which means it can be manually portable and allows for the implementation of a “surface crawler” unit that can be remotely operated such as on a ship hull or deck cleaner. In the large systems, the size and shape being blasted will mandate the amount and location of the blast streams. This means there is not any expended blast energy or blast material when it is not needed. Current equipment has serious amounts of “over-blast”, which wastes energy and blast material (grit)
Thin Gauge: Minimal warping. This technology can be multi-sided and will blast thin gauge material that is not currently available in any other machine. Shipyards and other industries are currently tasked with down-sizing plate thickness to sizes that do not allow sandblasting due to distortion and warping caused by the blasting process. Environment: The technology does not generate the airborne dust associated with the operation of the current centrifugal wheel shot blasting or air-powered machines and noise levels are substantially reduced. It is designed to recycle the abrasives internally and eliminates the complex recycling components used with other systems and thereby reducing energy consumption. Space utilization is greatly reduced. Contaminants: Steel shot blasting traps contaminants such as mill scale and chlorides on the surface. These contaminants cause premature failures of the paint and coatings that are being utilized. The electromagnetic technology is designed to use steel grit to remove the mill scale and chlorides from the surface while achieving a white metal blast with the desired “hooked” or “anchor” profile. Basically, you can set the “oriented” blast stream to produce any profile that may be required. Faster: The multi-side design capability, as well as the electromagnetic energy movement of the grit, will accelerate the grit much faster than current conventional shot blasters, thereby, enhancing the abrasive cleaning rate when compared to conventional systems. Reduced Grit Consumption: No paddles to accelerate grit-Grit is not accelerated by forcefully hitting paddles-It is propelled by electro-magnetic energy-Therefore, grit cost can be reduced. Automation: The technology has inherent automation, i.e. Logic Controller Chip: The system will also have an embedded logic controller chip that will do a multitude of things such as eliminate the phase controller. It can also do such things as set the temperature of the grit in the hopper, make the unit smaller, more compact, and efficient, control the flow of the grit, makes the unit safer to operate, etc. Basically, the chip is a fast computer that controls everything that goes on and tracks the system's utilization on a per square foot basis. Summary: The mission statement of the company was to develop a truly innovative, green technology to replace the inefficient, environmentally unfriendly systems currently available to the surface preparation industry and to provide American industry with a significant competitive advantage over its overseas competitors-The electro-magnetic and dual-energy technologies accomplish this goal.
