Today’s performance will be rescheduled due to expected inclement weather, and, for that, I’m grateful. No need for details. Just know I’m grateful.

A frustrating experience for me is dealing with attitudes when it’s showtime. Few realize how much I’m processing - work, costumes, scripts, props, hair, makeup, rehearsals, M.I.A. cast, schedules, work, making sure the children get home, unexpected attitudes, depleted resources, equipment, the public, cleaning, WORK. I’ve come to realize I can’t please everybody. No matter how much perspective and positivity I try to convey there will always be an imp. I already know the kids will SLAY this show.

Just got in from rehearsal only to come in and grade 18 midterm essays. Grades are due tomorrow.

I must find some balance. On a BLESSED note, a parent came in and said her employer - A BANK - wanted to be a sponsor!☺️

Past couple of days I’ve been researching music for the Black History program. When I tell you the trip down memory lane has been 🔥🔥🔥. Today I grooved to New Orleans and back seated on The Yard at HU listening to The Fugees, Wu-Tang Clan, Eric B. and Rakim, and Public Enemy. That vibe squashed every inch of frustration I had about driving down for only 45-minute classes every day this week. Mardi Gras vacation started at 9:41 a.m.

Anyway, I’m still reminiscing. Be sure to join us on the 29th so you can, too.
