of Pratt, Kansas is filling hungry tummies. Our primary purpose? I am so glad you asked. We know of the many nutritional deficiencies that are in our area. Children in our area are hungry. This last spring we had 150 on average that went through the free meal program held at the PHS Cafeteria. Blessings to all the people who worked so hard to make that happen and put it together. ings!!!! But when it ended at the end of June what happened to all the Children, where did they go to get a meal. You know if there was 150 that ate there, there was at least 1/2 that many more that did not or could not come. There are elderly who are shut in who cannot get out to get food, or meals because of our economy they have little or no money. Our goal includes seeking them out and making sure they are taken care of also. As you know, needy families and individuals in our community go without proper food, shelter, and essential medical care every day due to a variety of factors including low wages, job loss, injuries, illness, age, domestic violence, or divorce. While all of us are susceptible to hard times, children and the elderly are at the most risk, and they make up the largest number of clients we serve. With the generous support of people like you, we will be able to help many of these families and individuals not only to meet essential daily needs, but to work toward a brighter future with programs in job training, education, counseling, elderly assistance, and temporary housing.
