Ninnescah Chapter of Pheasants & Quail Forever Care about the future of pheasants, quail and our upland birds? So do we! We can control the habitat - but we can’t control the weather.

Join us as we work to improve habitat for all wildlife and help introduce our youth to conservation values, learning outdoor activities and be stewards for the future! As you probably already know, upland bird hunting has time-honored traditions and sadly on the decline due to populations of bobwhite quail, pheasants, grouse and other upland bird species that are declining rapidly across the south

ern United States. Reasons for their decline are based on many variables - but most especially on habitat and weather. So to help these birds regain some of their population, we have to start with improving and restoring habitat for not only quail, but other wildlife as well. The journey for good quail habitat begins with You - and the community that you live in, to help educate, spread the word, encourage better land practices and much more. Which is why every quail hunter—and there are approximately 1 million nationwide—should be a Quail Forever member. No organization does more to improve habitat that produces quail than Quail Forever. Becoming a part of the effort is rewarding - and YES, you CAN make a Difference!

🎣🇺🇸 CAST A LINE & CELEBRATE INDEPENDENCE DAY! 🇺🇸🎣

The Ninnescah Chapter of Pheasants Forever is excited to host our Kid's Independence Day Fishing Derby on Saturday, July 4th from 9:00 AM – Noon at the KDWP Kids Fishing Pond!

Bring the kids out for a fun-filled morning of fishing, fresh air, and family memories. Whether they're experienced anglers or trying fishing for the very first time, we'll have volunteers on site to help with baiting hooks, fish identification, and more!

🐟 Prizes awarded for the Biggest Fish 🎣 Fishing help available for beginners 🇺🇸 Free family-friendly fun 🌟 Great way to celebrate the holiday outdoors

Grab your fishing pole and join us for a morning of smiles, stories, and maybe even the catch of the day!

We partake in America's upland traditions because of their sacrifice. This Memorial Day, we pause to honor those who lost their lives in service to our country.

Forbs (wildflowers and "weeds") like milkweed, prairie clover, coneflower, goldenrod, and ragweed provide habitat for many species from pollinators to upland birds. Forbs are a critical component of nesting cover and brood-rearing cover for both pheasants and quail. These species attract a variety of insects, which make up to 90% of a young chick's diet.

Come out on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, to Manhattan, Kansas to gain practical conservation knowledge and build confidence in connecting with your tenants. You’ll meet likeminded women landowners and conservation professionals in your state dedicated to helping your land succeed.
