Hokie's Hounds Beagle Rescue Hokie's Hounds Beagle Rescue Prairieville, LA is a 501(c)3 organization founded in Nov. 2002 dedicated to assisting beagles in Louisiana.

We are not a “bricks and mortar” shelter. We house our dogs in foster homes . CONTACT [email protected] Hokie's Hounds is an all volunteer organization. We do not have a "bricks and mortar" shelter, so our animals stay in foster homes. Our adoption process includes an application, contract, and adoption fee, which is typically $150.00. Most of our animals have been spayed/neutered prior to a

doption. They have all been vet checked. We encourage "meet and greet" opportunities, and we welcome your other dogs, children, etc. to come along when meeting a prospective companion animal. We also offer trial adoptions.

Welcome BUSTER ! Stay tuned for more info on this cute little guy!

UPDATE. It’s estimated this little guy is around 2-3 years old. He’s now been vaccinated and neutered. He did test heartworm positive. We’ve started him on heartworm preventative and he has begun the slow kill treatment protocol. He’s also being treated for intestinal parasites. Right now he weighs around 16 pounds, but we expect him to put some weight on.

He positively precious! He gets along with other dogs. He’s playful and friendly!

Turner may be a senior, but he's not letting that slow him down. He decided if we were going to catch the attention of his future family we needed to get ALL his good angles. So naturally, Turner got an entire photo shoot.

And honestly... the dude understood the assignment: sweet face, handsome profile, the cutest ears that you just need to rub! Turner is fabulous, charming, and more than ready to trade shelter life for a good bed, snacks, and a family to call his own.
