Our program is a fun and encouraging introduction to horseback riding. Riders will build confidence, learn basic horse care and riding skills, make new friends, and enjoy hands-on time at the barn in a safe and supportive environment.

🐴 Evening Horse Rides with Prairie du Chien Park & Rec
We’re excited to partner with the Prairie du Chien Park and Recreation Department to offer evening horse rides at Children’s Ranch this summer! 🌅

Horse rides will take place on select summer evenings and are open to children ages 3–12.
All rides will be hand-walked in a safe, enclosed area, making it a fun and gentle experience for young riders.

🎟️ Details:
Cost is $3 per child per time or $20 for a season pass
Exact change is appreciated
No reservations are required or accepted — just come and enjoy!
Dates this is offered is June 1, June 15, July 6, July 13, July 27, Aug 3, Aug 10, Aug 17. 5:00pm - 6:00pm.

We have both horses and ponies available for this event. To keep things moving smoothly, we are unable to honor requests for specific horses or ponies. Riders will be paired with the next available horse or pony. Thank you for your understanding!

Jelly Bean is ready to rock and roll this Saturday at the Annual Easter Party! 🎉

Jelly Bean is a mule! Jelly Bean has the tallest ears of any animal at the Easter Party.

Remember that the Easter Party is rain or shine! Don’t let a little Wisconsin spring weather stop you from having an afternoon of fun! Our committee is hard at work making all necessary adjustments to accommodate the weather!

R***r is has attended many Easter Parties. R***r is used for lessons for the youngest kiddos. His clam personality makes him one of the favorites. You can meet him in 8 days!

We’re excited to announce that there are only 23 days until our Annual Easter Party! 🐰🌷🐴

As we continue introducing the horses you’ll meet at the event, today we’d like you to meet Annie! Annie is 18 years old and her primary job is being a wonderful lesson horse. Each summer, she helps many kids learn how to ride. Her patient and trustworthy personality makes her a favorite among riders.

Annie can’t wait to see you in 23 days! Come join us at the Easter Party and meet Annie in person. 🐣✨
