SHARE was founded in 1986 at Shawnee Mission East High School to inspire our young people to serve their community. It's grown to be the largest, school-based, student-run, community-funded organization of its kind. As a "student-led" organization, the kids are inspired to see the need around them, develop a plan to help, and mobilize their peers to action. Currently, eight senior executive studen

Congratulations to Catherine Beltrame, recipient of the 2026 Bev Timmons Award! This award honors the former nurse credited with creating the SHARE program at SME 40 years ago. It recognizes a selfless senior who has been a regular volunteer and leader for SHARE, one who outwardly demonstrates a heart for volunteer service to our school, community, and world. Very well-deserved!
