I heard it’s International Pageant Day! I’ve been doing pageants my whole life minus a little break. This is from my first pageant ever all the way to my most recent pageant. It wasn’t until a few years ago when I realized that pageants are more that going on stage in a pretty dress for a few minutes. I learned that it’s about making an impact on others, encouraging others, and most importantly changing lives. Pageants should encourage everyone to make an impact in and out of the glam, rhinestones, and dresses. The benefits to pageantry are pretty much endless upon involvement.

Happy National Arkansas Day!

Arkansas earns the name "Natural State" with over half the state is forested and more than 1 million acres in Ozark National Forest. With it’s natural beauty and beautiful views, it has become a tourist attraction from around the world.

Most importantly, Arkansas had a vast variety of agricultural areas. The state is ranked top 10 and top 5 in many crops, holds the duck capital of the world, and the University of Arkansas became the first university with agriculture sciences as one of the original areas of study.

I could be a little biased, but Arkansas has something for everyone.

Happy National Milk Day!

The first glass bottle deliveries were made in 1878, nearly 145 years ago. Now, more than 6 billion people consume milk and milk products across the world. This is because milk provides nutrients such as calcium, potassium, vitamin B12, and vitamin A.

Milk isn’t just produced from cows for dairy consumption. Animal such as buffalo, goat, sheep, camel, donkey, horse, reindeer, and yak produce products like butter, cream, yogurt, kefir, ice cream, and cheese.

Let’s get back to the Weekly Farm Spotlights with Chloe Hillian. Chloe and I went to school together and I got to see how passionate she is about agriculture especially dairy cows. She lives on a generational dairy farm where she has raised and shown dairy cattle. Chloe has a huge passion for agriculture and is educating others through classes and lesson plans.

Two major events in history happened yesterdays date many years ago. One of these happened only 2 miles away from my house in 1862. This was the Battle of Prairie Grove which was a battle of the American Civil War.

Another major event is known nationwide as one of the most tragic events in American history. The attack on Pearl Harbor took place in 1941.

It is important to know our history and especially the history in your hometown. Prairie Grove is known for their historic area and keeping the story going.

Over the weekend, I had the chance to go to Nashville on a DECA trip. We visited the Ga***rd Hotel, toured the Titans stadium, Country Music Hall of Fame, Cafe Loveless, Olive and Sinclair Chocolate factory, and the Grand Ole Opry. Then of course some mall stops in between. I had so much fun and made so many memories.
