✨PLATFORM CHANGE✨
Reese’s Community Closet has served me well over the time of my reign, but there’s always room for change! My new platform “END - Exceptional, not Disabled” has been created to advocate for those with disabilities and to put an END to discrimination.
I was born with a condition called microtia, in which one ear did not fully develop, leaving me deaf in one ear. If I had not had the option to be fully included into my school setting, despite my disability, I would not be the successful woman I am today.
In today’s educational climate, it is more important than ever that we be pushing for inclusion of people with disabilities of any kind. Humans are very social beings and without socialization and acceptance at the very basic levels of life, and in every aspect, we cannot expect to provide those with disabilities the type of social connection they truly need. That’s why I am here to make a change!
Reese’s Community Closet will ALWAYS be open to take donations so we can continue to give back to the community but I am so excited to begin this new journey with END!🤍
