To whom it may concern,
My name is Richard Butler, and I am a faculty sponsor for the Prague Public Schools chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. In FCA, teachers and coaches, middle school students, and high school students gather once a week and share testimonies, read the Bible, and talk in small groups about being an athlete and a follower of Christ. During this time, we have fun and build relationships with fellow believers while also encouraging one another in the Faith. FCA is an important organization because it helps teach students discipline in not only their sports and activities, but also in their spiritual lives.
The reason I am posting this is that we are building a new group of dedicated young men and women in the community, and we could benefit from your help. We typically meet once a week in the evening from 8-9 PM after Wednesday night church service. However, this year, FCA has been very inactive due to lack of interest and participation. I have been approached by some enthusiastic students who are motivated to begin FCA again and turn things around for next year. For these events, I would like to be able to offer our FCA students something different on occasion, such as snacks/food and drinks, special FCA nights, etc. Last year, I was able to organize a fundraiser, but it was late in the year and I wound up raising the funds myself, so we now have a modest account built up, but it isn’t a sustainable amount currently.
