Nice to see a neighboring state making changes to protect wild brook trout!

These last few proposals in NH have done little to nothing to protect wild brook trout. Some parts of these proposals would have certainly had negative impacts on wild brook trout.

In addition to lowering the daily limit on “trout,” from 8 to 6 fish, only 3 of those fish may be brook trout…

As a result of NHFG’s proposed rules earlier this year. NFC went through the allowed baitfish list for the state and found several concerns. As a result of this, NHFG is planning on making changes to the allowed baitfish.

Removing nonnative and limited range species from New Hampshire’s legal to use list would be a step in the right direction…
