The Powhatan African American Cultural Arts Museum (PAACAM), a local treasure, preserves and shares the rich history, culture, and educational legacy of African Americans in Powhatan County.
Located inside the Pocahontas Landmark Center, the former segregated school that once served African American students in the community, the museum honors the stories, achievements, and contributions of local residents while ensuring this important history continues to be remembered and celebrated for generations to come.
This month, PAACAM is hosting the 6th Annual Juneteenth Celebration to honor freedom and excellence at the Powhatan Landmark Center on Saturday, June 20 from 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Please join us for this wonderful community event!
