We will have this litter of 5 kittens available soon and are taking applications now for them. They're currently in foster care to keep them healthy until they can be vaccinated. There is one male and four females in this litter.

🛡️ Wyoming Pet Owners: Rabies & West Nile Virus Alert! 🦇🦟

The Wyoming Department of Health is warning residents that rabies and West Nile virus activity increases in warmer months. The first rabies case of 2026 was confirmed in a bat found in a Sheridan County backyard.
Rabies is fatal but preventable. It spreads through bites or scratches from infected animals (not casual contact).

Protect your pets and family:
• Vaccinate dogs, cats, ferrets, horses, and livestock against rabies.
• Never touch or feed wild/stray animals.
• If bitten/scratched or a bat is in your home — wash thoroughly with soap & water and seek medical advice immediately for possible PEP treatment.

West Nile Virus is mosquito-borne. There have been 11 cases since Sept 2025 (6 severe, 1 fatal).

Reduce risk by:
• Draining standing water & controlling mosquito larvae.
• Using insect repellent (pet-safe versions), screens, and protective clothing.
• Avoiding peak mosquito times (dusk/dawn) and keeping yards trimmed.
Stay safe out there, Wyoming! Vaccinate your pets, eliminate breeding sites, and report concerns to your vet or local health officials.

Dear Friends of Moyer Animal Shelter Powell Wyoming everyone has been incredibly generous with us and we appreciate it beyond measure. The cats and dogs currently are blessed with an abundance to the point we are maxed out on storage of blankets, sheets and pet beds at this time. We also cannot accept used litter boxes, and dirty items.

If you would like to donate towards what we really need at this time we are short on scoopable cat litter and loving forever homes for the cats in our care. We are also in need of volunteers and foster participants.

We gained a meet and greet room, but lost a lot of storage space to make it happen. We would love for you to come spend time with the cats and Gus our one remaining available dog in this space!

Edit Willow has gone home. . We have a late check in at the animal shelter tonight. She was brought in by the police department so the owner will need to stop by the police department before coming to collect her at Moyer Animal Shelter Powell Wyoming someone will be at the shelter at 8:30-10:00am and again 3:30-6:30pm tomorrow. Or you can message the page to make arrangements.

Edit this cat has returned home. This sweetheart was brought in by the police department this afternoon. To claim her please stop by the police department before contacting the shelter to come get her back home. Someone can meet the owner tonight or Sunday morning when we come in to feed the animals if needed. Just message us to make arrangements or leave a message with a number we can call at 307-754-1019.
