Macron welcomes Beijing engagement in peace process
France’s president, Emmanuel Macron, has said China’s engagement in peace in Ukraine is a “good thing”.
Macron told reporters that he would visit China in early April, in part to seek Beijing’s help with ending the war.

China considering supplying artillery shells to Russia, say US officials
The US has intelligence that the Chinese government is considering providing Russia with drones and ammunition for use in the war in Ukraine, according to US officials.

It does not appear that Beijing has made a final decision yet and there is no evidence that any weapon transfers have occurred, officials said.

However, negotiations between Russia and China about the price and scope of the equipment are ongoing, CNN has reported. It comes as the Russian army rapidly depletes its ammunition stocks more than a year into its invasion of Ukraine.

Moscow has repeatedly requested drones and ammunition from Beijing, the sources said, and Chinese leadership has been actively debating over the last several months whether or not to send the lethal aid, they added.

US intelligence officials believe China is now leaning towards providing the equipment, despite just yesterday calling for peace talks and urging all parties to end attacks on civilians.

The Powell Gyro Club conducted its 12th year installation Friday, Nov 17, at the Wine Bistro Westerville.
There was a very good turnout: 90% of our members showed up with their ladies for an evening of food, wine & fun!

Attendees were John Bakitis & his friend Kat, PDG Jim & Cheryl Boyden, Lee Cavin, Kraig Kemz, Rita Mathews, Steve Reed & Kelly Keller, Glenn Ritchie, Jim Ruisinger, Fred & Joan Scharlotte, PDG Randy & Debra Tarrier.

The new officers and their ladies were installed by D1 2nd Lt Governor John Hollendonner (Akron); John's wife Laurie was also in attendance, as were 1st Lt Gov Jim Glassmeyer (Marion) and his wife Diane.

Congratulations to our new officers: President Steve Reed, Vice President Glenn Ritchie, Secretary-Treasurer Randy Tarrier.
Also a big thank you to our new club Directors, who will be helping the officers guide the club in the coming year: Jim Boyden, Jim Ruisinger, & Fred Scharlotte.

2018 is going to be a fun year for Powell Gyro - looking forward to more great times!

We all love wine. In fact, most nights of the week our editors sip a glass or two to wind down after work. The liquor store nearest us doesn't always have the best selection, or the best prices for that matter. They have limited shelf space, and store employees don't always recommend bottles we'll.....

This weekend Powell Gyro had our signature event: Put in Bay Getaway. Larry & Rita Mathews, Randy & Debra Tarrier, Jim Boyden, and our newest Powell member- Steve Reed, along with his Gyrette Kelly Keller. Steve was formally inducted into the club by PDG Lew Lause (Marion), who was there with his wife Susan. Highlights of the weekend included the induction at the Boardwalk, lounging at Hazards' on Middle Bass, West Bay Inn on Kelley's Island, fireworks & the Menus at Put in Bay.What a great weekend!
