Good afternoon to all the great alumni of PHS! Planning for the 112th Annual All Class PHS Reunion has started. I appreciate the interest created by my last posting, and would like to start the follow up. If those interested could send an email to me at [email protected] and include your email, graduating class or when you attended PHS, if you live in the area and can attend a limited amount of meetings annually and your availability it would be appreciated. We will have another meeting probably in August or September to finalize a lot of the activities for the 112th ! Thank you all !

Good afternoon fellow PHS graduates as we put the 111th Annual All Class Reunion in the history books! Friday night numerous classes met to celebrate their own class reunion, then Saturday night all came together to mark the 111th reunion, celebrating since 1915 when the first PHS class graduated. Individual class participation Friday was good, but Saturday night turnout was down, no thanks to some weather rolling through and numerous other activities in Powell and the area. (I'll try and get some photos uploaded). Our planned activities saw a decrease year over year as well. Powell is not the biggest of cities, so when an event such as ours is going on, everyone wants to plan some activity. We were told by the Chamber a couple years ago that our weekend brought in the most out of state people of any weekend of the year. Hence, more people coming to town, everyone wants some of the activity. I hope that as the reunions continue, our turnout stays high so we can continue to add on to our annual number. Just for the record, AI Overview states "The longest-running annual ALL CLASS high school reunion is held by Powell High School in Powell, Wyoming. Their annual association has existed for well over a century, hosting large all-class gathering every single year". Who's to doubt AI, however my own research says we are number two behind an Ohio school and ahead of a number three Seattle area school by a couple years. Its all about wording, however, lets continue to support our own school on a yearly bases. More research by your committee!

Classes are already planning for next year, as the Class of 1977 is in the planning stages for their 50th! And I personally know the class of '68 has started planning for their 60th in 2028! As your class makes plans, let us know so we can share times and places so your turnout will be tops. For those planning, the 112th Annual All Class Reunion will be celebrated on June 25th and 26th, 2027!

Every year your committee looks for ideas and ways to make your reunion experience better. Suggestions always welcome. The committee this year consisted of 8 individuals, some serving over 10 years, and some who have been on earlier committees. If you are willing to help keep this record intact and growing annually, please let us know so we can get you involved. Next year may bring some changes, so stay tuned and get your ideas to us soon, so the 112th Annual All Class reunion will be one of the best ever.

Panther Open is tomorrow, still can use golfers and if you can’t golf but would like to help we could use man power to watch the $10,000 hole in one contest and putting contest. 9:30 am see Terry Lane.

Calling all PHS Alumni: The Powell Tribune publishes a page of all individual class reunion gatherings held following Alumni Weekend. We have info for the Class of 1966, Class of 1976, Class of 1986, Class of 1996, Class of 1961-1962 and Class of 2016.

If you're part of another class holding an event this Friday or Saturday, please let us know the date, time and venue so we can make arrangements to capture your class photo!

Powell High School Reunion Information!!

>> Every year since the graduating class of Powell High School in 1915 celebrated their first reunion, an annual reunion has been held, and this year is no different marking the 111th Annual All Class Reunion and celebration. PHS has the distinction of continuing this tradition where many schools no longer hold such events. As far as our research shows, PHS ranks number two, perhaps in the world, with consecutive all class reunions, and hopefully the tradition will continue! The reunion weekend brings to Powell alumni from distant places to relive memories of our hometown! Events are planned for two days, June 26th and 27th, with time to renew old memories with classmates and to see how the community has changed over the years. As alumni return, they bring an increased boom to the community, from restaurants to motels to local small businesses. It is always hoped that the businesses would support the event, as some do through sponsorship signs at the annual PHS Open golf tournament. Other ways for the community to show support is to show up at the events and voice your support, or even become involved to help the tradition continue. Many alumni travel great distances, and many tell us that they are surprised that their local classmates don’t come to their planned events. This year is 111 years of a tradition the city of Powell can be proud of. It would be nice to see the city show support, perhaps elected officials who graduated from PHS could take in an event that showcases not just Powell High School but also the beloved city we all grew up in. All the Friday and Saturday events except the individual class events on Friday night are open for all alumni, and the Powell community is invited to attend. The tradition has failed in many communities around the country, don’t let it fail in Powell. Each year members of the alumni committee search for new ideas to make the weekend better, and continually ask for new members to join our group. Some have served many years since their graduation, and we thank them for their service, but they would now like to see new members take over the tradition. Search out that old Panther pride instilled in you to step up and offer your time and talent to keep the tradition going.
