We had a great end to a challenging season yesterday. Cody's 5th and last year. We missed our team member Connor. Our friends Diamond Plate picked us to compete with them for the 4th alliance in the tournament. They all went into it to have fun with a great attitude as you can see from the photo as we watch the final 2 alliances compete. A few of us stayed after to help clean up and hang out. Cody and will definitely miss most of this since it's our last year but will definitely come cheer our friends on next year and possibly volunteer to help out.

Late nights and long Saturday of double meets are worth it to see these kids work together, problem solve, strategies and have fun and interact with other teams. I promised not to post any videos that I might have of them dancing or singing. 4 weeks till the next double Meet in Cartersville.

What a fun day. We were part of the winning alliance in the second highest match of the day, part of the winning alliance in the most competitive match of the day, won one match solo, and had fun working with other teams from our league.

We just won the most competitive match of this long day! Even the referees cheered after and said it was a fun match!

This is Gracious Professionalism! We haven't programmed our Autonomous yet and the Darbots team (Darlington school) came to us and wanted to help write the code before the next match. There wasn't enough time but not for a lack of trying. I know our team has learned a lot from them today about strategy also.

Our Story

We are FTC team 6047. Our team represents Praise Academy in Powder Springs, GA. Some refer to us as “The little team that could” We don’t have big sponsors, a large budget, or even a coach in a STEM field like most of the teams we compete against. However, with hard work and dedication, we have advanced beyond the State Championships for 5 consecutive years. 3 of the past 4 years we have advanced as far as the WORLD Championship! We love to share about our robot, our team and FIRST. Let us know if we can do that for you. We also would love to hear from STEM professionals and learn ways our new skills can help us go forward! Also if there is interest in sponsoring “our little team that could” we’d love to chat!
