📢 We’re excited to announce our 5th grade Head Coach, Chris Karacalidis!

“I’m excited to continue serving the Harrison community and supporting the next generation of Hoya football players as the 5th Grade Head Coach. My coaching experience spans multiple sports—including football, baseball, and wrestling—working with athletes across various age groups and levels.

I have been coaching with the Cobb Football League (CFL) for the past 8 years, including the last 5 seasons as a Head Coach, with experience across all levels of youth football. I’ve also had the privilege to coach several CFL All-Star teams, further reinforcing my passion for developing young athletes.

My coaching philosophy is centered on development, ex*****on, and accountability, while also teaching players how to handle adversity and encouraging them to be their best selves—both on and off the field. Just as important is building the brotherhood that defines Hoya football. This is especially critical at the 5th grade level, as we prepare our players for the transition to middle school and ultimately Friday night lights.

In addition to coaching, I remain actively involved with the Harrison High School football program as a board member, helping to strengthen alignment across all levels of the program and support long-term player development.

I’m looking forward to great season—continuing to build strong fundamentals, develop confident athletes, and create an environment where players can grow, compete, and love the game.”

📢 We’re excited to announce our 4th grade Head Coach, Salik Johnson!

Coach Johnson serves as the Head Coach of the Harrison 4th grade team, where he works to create a supportive, familyoriented environment for young athletes. A believer in the power of sports to shape character, Coach Johnson emphasizes leadership,
sportsmanship, and resilience both on and off the field.

He is dedicated to developing wellrounded players who understand the value of hard work, teamwork, and commitment. Whether teaching fundamentals or celebrating small victories, Coach Johnson strives to make every season a meaningful experience for his
athletes and their families.

Professionally, Salik Johnson is a Retail Market Manager for Synovus Bank. He has been in the financial industry for the past twenty-two years. He continues to strive daily to become a dynamic leader within the organization that he serves. The determination to be successful daily, living out your purpose, and simply being kind to others has been
the motto that keeps Salik grounded in his daily walk of life.

Outside of work, Salik is active in his church as leader and teacher, loves spending time with his spouse and three children, and loves watching and cheering for his favorite football team the Alabama Crimson Tide. He also loves to play golf and participate in
philanthropy events.

📢 We’re excited to announce our 3rd grade Head Coach, Mitch Feraco!

“Hoyas - I am grateful and absolutely fired up to be returning to the sidelines this year as the Head Coach of the 3rd grade Harrison Hoya football team! This upcoming season marks my third year leading this incredible group, and my passion for this program and these young athletes continues to grow. My connection to this community goes way back—I grew up playing youth football right here when it was the Due West Raiders. I was fortunate enough to play all the way through the youth and middle school programs, eventually playing for Harrison High School under the leadership of Coach Bruce Cobleigh. Now, I get to share this journey with my beautiful wife, Nichole, and our three boys, Camden, Crew, and Collins, who keep me motivated every single day.
For me, football is about so much more than just the sport itself. It has an incredible way of teaching us how to tackle life when times get hard through discipline, sacrifice, and a team-first mentality. I am honored to continue serving in this program and teaching this great game alongside an awesome group of coaches who have been with us for the past several years. Together, we believe in creating an environment where our kids will master proper form and technique, but more importantly, where they will grow on and off the field. We are building a true brotherhood where we look out for one another as one big family, all striving to reach our goals together as a team. Let's get to work. Go Hoyas!”

We will focus on teaching football fundamentals, teamwork, and sportsmanship while helping each athlete build confidence and develop a love for the game. Practices will be age-appropriate, structured, and engaging, with an emphasis on effort, respect, and learning. We have a terrific coaching staff lined up and are committed to ensuring every player feels supported and excited to be part of the Hoya Brotherhood.

📢 We’re excited to announce our K1 Assistant Coach, Craig Sullivan!

“I’m excited to be part of the Harrison Hoya Youth Football community as an assistant coach for the K1 team this fall. Harrison football has been a big part of my life, as I grew up in the program myself, and it’s been special to now watch my own family be a part of it—my son has played in the program for the past two years, and my daughters have also been involved through cheer. I’m passionate about helping young athletes develop not only their football skills, but also teamwork, discipline, and confidence, and I’m looking forward to a great season with the team.”

📢 We’re excited to announce our K/1 head coach, James Bowen!

“I’m excited to serve as the K1 Head Coach this season with Cobb Youth Football League and continue supporting the Harrison community. I also currently serve as the Harrison Football Athletic Director for grades K–5, where I help oversee program development, coach training, and ensure a safe, positive experience for our players and families.

I’ve been a volunteer football coach with Cobb Youth Football League since 2015, working with athletes from K1 through 5th grade. Coaching at the K1 level is especially important to me, as this is where players are first introduced to the game and begin building confidence, coordination, and a love for football.

As K1 Head Coach, my focus is on teaching basic football fundamentals, encouraging teamwork, promoting sportsmanship, and creating a fun, supportive environment where every child feels included. At this age, success is about learning, effort, and enjoyment, not the scoreboard.

I’m looking forward to a great season helping our K1 players grow, have fun, and take their first steps in youth football.”
