This fall we started our 3rd and 4th Stable Connections Program with Steadfast Foster and Adoptive Support! We are very excited to partner with Sarah and Steadfast to assist the community together! Sarah, a foster mom herself and CEO, recently shared how much the ranch and this program mean to her clients. From learning about horses, to bonding with their grandkids, to total relaxation and trust and we even had one child start to talk at the very last session!

We are hosting 30 people out at the ranch to engage with and learn about horse care, bonding, feeding, grooming and more. Ages range from 3-65! The program is not only beneficial for the children but also the parents, grandparents and the entire family unit as well. The entire family is encouraged to attend so they can all partake in the activities and learn together.

This is just one aspect they are offering their clients and they have many great programs going. We look forward to working together and are hoping to get multiple sessions going per week. Thank you to all of our donors and grantors for making this possible.

Thank you to Eli Lilly and Company for coming out last week to volunteer with us during your Global Day of Service!

For 19 years, Lilly’s Global Day of Service has always meant showing up for the communities where they live and work. Tens of thousands of team members across the world stepped out of the office to make an impact beyond the workplace.

Volunteers assisted with ranch work, horse care and even got to participant in students lessons! Each year, the group keeps getting bigger and bigger. 😁 Thank you for your help!

We are so excited for our new large scale communication board at the ranch! This tool will help us advance our communication options for our riders. Thank you to Sheri, one of our volunteers, for spending countless hours putting this together and working together with Smarty Symbols!

AAC boards:
• Provide universal access: Displays essential core vocabulary such as common verbs, pronouns, and adjectives where all students or participants can see them.
• Supports communication: Enables Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) users and their peers to point to symbols and interact during shared or group activities.
• Encourages language growth: Models language visually in real-time, helping learners understand how to combine words and build sentences.

We are incredibly grateful to once again be supported by Thoroughbred Charities of America (TCA)!

Each year, organizations go through a thorough review process. This helps ensure grant funds are directed to organizations demonstrating responsible operations and a strong commitment to Thoroughbreds. TCA distributes grants to approved organizations that provide: Thoroughbred rehabilitation, rehoming and retirement programs, Thoroughbred incentive programs, Backstretch and farm employee programs, Equine-assisted therapy programs that utilize Thoroughbreds and more!

This grant will help support aftercare for our 7 Off the Track Thoroughbreds. Atlas was very excited to show his support as well. 🤣 Thank you from all of us at RAD!

POSTPONED: Dinner with Horses Event
New date: November 7th, 2026 from 4:00-7:00pm

Now that there is a wind advisory with potential for 50 mile an hour gusts, it is no longer safe to do the Dinner with Horses event. At this wind speed, dust and debris gets picked up through the air. Not only does it create an outdoor environment that isn't pleasant to be in. The debris flying through the air can make the horses unpredictable. It would be unsafe to have the horses out in the arenas with people in these conditions.

The new event date will be November 7th from 4-7.

Love horses? Looking to work outdoors? Want to help with adaptive horseback riding lessons? Come join us at RAD! Volunteers are the backbone of our program and we can't do this without your help. Volunteers assist with horse care, ranch work, admin duties and helping students with lessons. There is something for everyone. We have two upcoming trainings to close out the year and are located in Poway, CA. We’re incredibly thankful to the Escondido Community Foundation an affiliate of the San Diego Foundation for supporting our mission and the work we do every day for children and adults through equine therapy.

After applying, we had the opportunity to share more with the Foundation’s Board of Directors earlier this summer at the ranch. (Same day the cows arrived 🤣). We were so excited when we received the news that we had been selected for a grant.

It was wonderful to be chosen alongside so many local organizations making a positive impact throughout our community as well.

This funding will help us expand services and access to Escondido residents as well as benefit our entire community. Thank you so much!

Can you even handle the cuteness?? Here’s Bailey learning to lead RJ during our summer program this year. We teach all aspects of horsemanship here at RAD, not just riding. RJ is one of our Off the Track Thoroughbreds getting a second chance career in life. He is being so gentle and sweet with Bailey! Watch for him to do a little “check in” look with her. 🥺🥺

Little Brûlée getting her grooming session done! You can see her falling asleep and how much she loves it. Brûlée is 2 years old and still learning the ropes of her baby basics training, round penning, walking on lead and learning to lunge with her favorite ponies, Sully and Honey 🍯. Brûlée is the future of RAD and is looking for her sponsor. If you are interested in learning more please reach out to [email protected].

One of our students got her very own horse! Last week, we had a big reveal party and celebration at the ranch to introduce Sarah to her new horse, Ty! Ty had a big purple bow on and loved every minute of it. It was so special and super exciting for Sarah. We had about 20 friends and family there to celebrate with us. Ty will also be in the RAD program and will be able to help give lessons to other students as well! Congratulations to Sarah and her family!
