Is there a wild game meat you are skeptical about trying?
Most people don't eat Javelina!
It has a pork like texture and the meat is a bit tougher, however, when prepared correctly it is delicious!
What wild game is on your list to try?

"We finished processing the bear meat, it looks like really good, tender meat. So, I wanted to get a bit of fishing in before I need to head back home. It was only 7°C up at the lake (44.6°F)! I had to wear my Prois merino 1/2 zip wool shirt, callaid super down vest and torai jacket to stay warm! I did manage to catch a limit of tasty trout! Some for dinner, some to freeze! Now, I'll be super tired the next few days. I used my spoons up!"

"Tagged my first black bear and got him on a solo hunt! He decided to go for a swim in a swamp after he was shot, so it was a bit wet getting him out of there! But absolutely loved every minute of it!"

In January of 2024, I went on a mountain lion hunt to British Columbia.
In April of 2026, I brought him home from the taxidermist in a whole new form but one that is so breathtaking & surreal that I still cannot believe he's home!
The hunt has been relived daily since bringing him into my home !
What is your favorite "memory " piece of taxidermy!?

Minnesota turkey season is here, it’s an exciting time that blends tradition, conservation, and the outdoors. Each season plays a vital role in managing the state’s growing turkey population, helping to prevent overpopulation and minimize conflicts between wildlife and communities. It’s more than just management it’s early mornings in the spring woods, the sound of gobbles echoing through the trees, and the memories made along the way. Turkey hunting provides a sustainable, locally sourced food option while encouraging people to disconnect from the daily grind and reconnect with nature. It sharpens skills like patience, awareness, and discipline, all while fostering a deeper appreciation for the land and wildlife. Who else has the drive to get out and be in the field?

Let’s talk Frost seeding.

Frost seeding is a very effective way to establish a food plot, such as clover, before the summer heat hits.

It is as easy as going out in late winter or early spring to seed your plot. It needs to be while the ground is still freezing at night but thawing during the day.

When the ground freezes, the ice opens up the soil. As the ground thaws it will pull the seed under the soil.

The seeds will lay dormant until the weather gets warm enough for them to germinate.

This year I frost seeded on March 1st. As you can see, on April 11th, our food plot is already off to a good start.
