Members of the Rotary Club of Scripps-Poway can predict the future. In fact, we know what we will be doing Sept. 12. The only question is, will you be with us? That's the day of our annual parade. We are starting work on this giant project and already have a theme. We are also seeking sponsors and entrants. Don't be left out, start early, and join us!!

Members Don, Jeri, Karen and Pauline paid a visit to the Escondido Humane Society to help fold laundry. This is an important project as you can imagine how many soiled towels and blankets the animals go through daily. When they took a break from that hard work it was to cuddle with adorable eight-month-old Woodstock. We are waiting to hear if we had a cuddle fail and a Rotarian is now the fur parent of a puppy.

Raise your bandaged arm if you gave blood yesterday at our Blood Drive! You could have visited with some of our members including Karen, Kristin, Dan, Pauline and the guy pictured wearing a 'one size fits all' hat. That's our member, Phil, who either was incognito or has an incredibly small head.

We can't stop thinking or working on the 2025 Poway Rotary Parade. It will be a milestone; the 60th anniversary of this popular, family friendly event. Mark your calendar for Sept. 13 for this year's event. The theme will be....(drumroll) 'Celebrating Heritage & Unity'. Watch the parade website at www.powayrotaryparade.org for details.

The 60th Annual Celebration will take place RAIN or SHINE on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 9AM!

Up & Coming: Here's a quick look at projects on the horizon for the club. Members/volunteers, please let Karen know how she can count on you.
Mar. 26 - Wednesday - VFW lunch at noon followed by proper flag disposal - this is not confirmed yet,, address is 12342 Old Pomerado Rd.

Mar, 18 - Tuesday eve. - RB Sunrise Rotary is having an evening meeting at 5:30pm, they have also invited the noon club. Cost is $25 per person. They are having a district 4 way speech contest - address is 12280 Greens Rd East

Mar. 21 - Friday - PUSD Youth in transition is coordinating bags for their grab and go pick up. Starts at 9:00 am probably until 3:00 or when we're done or you have to leave - address is 13626 Bldg 300 CCC Twin Peaks Rd.

Mar. 24 - Monday - PUSD YIT hand out the grab & go bags as families come to pick them up from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm - 13626 Bldg. 300 CCC Twin Peaks Rd.

Apr. 4 - Friday - Poway Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament - registration at 11:00 am, tee time 1:00, probably have to be there by 11 to set up. address is 17552 Bernardo Oaks Dr, (RB Inn))

Why a fire blanket, you ask?
