A Day of Service to Remember: Kiwanis of Poway and the Ranches Gives Back
This past Saturday March 28, the Kiwanis of Poway and the Ranches came together in a big way — and the results were nothing short of heartwarming.
More than 40 volunteers gathered for a special Day of Service at Oasis, beautifully organized by Claudette Satnick and Randy Tenzer. The energy was high, the hearts were full, and the impact was real.
Crafting Care for the Community
Members of the Key Club, the Knitters Group, and fellow volunteers put their hands and hearts to work, creating knitted baby caps, cozy blankets, and heartfelt cards, as well as collecting clothing — all destined for Gently Hugged and Youth in Transition, two organizations that make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need it most.
And in a stroke of creativity that stole the show, the Aktion Club and K-Kids collected old T-shirts and transformed them into dog toys! Proof that with a little imagination, nothing goes to waste.
Shining a Spotlight on Our Volunteers
A day like this doesn't happen without amazing people. We were thrilled to welcome some very special guests:
Martina Chavez, Key Club Lieutenant Governor
AJ Cottrell, Incoming Key Club Lieutenant Governor
John Lingham and Katy Clark, SLP Chairs
And a heartfelt thank-you to every member who rolled up their sleeves: Julie Sleeper, Reed Reichert, Lisa Lingham, Melissa Walker, Lidia Beauchamp, Ron Moehlig, Steve Ewart, Christine Zobel, Phil Hurley, Marianne Hill, and Randy Hill.
More Than Service — It Was a Celebration
To top it all off, the group shared some well-earned pizza together, making a meaningful day even more memorable. The smiles in the photos say it all!
To everyone who showed up, pitched in, and poured their hearts into this Day of Service — job well done! 🎉
