We are thrilled to announce the Thanksgiving portion of our food insecurity program was completed .

Through a generous private donation, our board Vice President, Dave Ryan, was able to coordinate the provision of hundreds of turkeys and other staples for Thanksgiving dinners. Members of the Board of Directors gathered with community members along with representatives from the Westchester County District Attorney's office, Hope's Door NY and Pace Women's Justice Center to assemble the groceries packages that were provided to victims of abuse and many food pantry partners in Westchester County.

Much appreciation to BillyThe Market at Pound Ridge Square for their dedication and continual support of New Dawn Family Resource Center and its services.

Our hearts are filled with gratitude.

On the first day of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, County Executive George Latimer, the Westchester County Board of Legislators and the Westchester County Office for Women (OFW) joined with Hope's Door NY and five lead advocacy organizations to “Shine a Light” on victims and survivors of domestic violence.

In a moving ceremony to raise awareness, support prevention efforts and provide available resources, they spoke out on the issue which concluded with a candlelight vigil and moment of silence on the steps of the Michaelian Office Building in White Plains. Other participating organizations included Legal Services of the Hudson Valley, My Sisters' Place , Pace Women’s Justice Center (PWJC), WestCOP Victims Assistance Services and New Dawn Family Resource Center.

Our annual Food Insecurity initiative was a success, providing 150 Thanksgiving meals!
The program was initiated in 2020 by Dick Lyman, co-founder of New Dawn Family Resource Center and David Ryan, New Dawn FRC board director and Director of Westchester County Domestic Violence High-Risk Team. 53 residents of northern Westchester, identified through local domestic violence service programs, received Thanksgiving meals, with the balance given to local food pantries. This program was funded through a generous donor and in partnership with The Market at Pound Ridge Square Next food drive is scheduled for the December holidays, donations can be made through New Dawn Family Resource Center (select Food Insecurity): https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=7QPX46RGSYYZN
