Poultney 2020 Poultney 2020: Creating a Vibrant Future Together By coming together continuously, we can really make a difference.

After founding Poultney 2020 in 2013, GMC hosted a conference on April 24, 2014 to kick-off of a new partnership between Green Mountain College and the greater Poultney community to revitalize the town. The conference was a day to celebrate Poultney’s progress and potential, and create a fresh new vision of our town’s future! Working together, we identified the highest-priority projects to be impl

emented, and are currently working to achieve those goals. The long-term goal is to create a more vibrant town that is highly attractive to residents, students, visitors and business owners. We invite all residents from the greater Poultney area and College to attend meetings, share their ideas, and learn about this revitalization effort.

Awesome news from our friends at Slate Quarry Park

"Poultney Town Select Board approves Land and Water Conservation Fund application for a matching grant to build the Slate Quarry Park.

On Monday, Dec. 10, 2018, the select board voted unanimously to approve the grant application which, if successful, will provide more than $100,000 towards the construction of the park at 76 Main Street. We will learn if we will receive the funding in April of 2019.

The town will take ownership of the park when and if the LWCF awards the grant to the project. The land is free of any encumbrance. The Slate Quarry Park Group will continue to work on the design and construction of the park. Brian Post of Standing Stone Landscape Architecture in Springfield, Vermont is working on the construction plans."
