A success! Trafficking Victims Protection and Justice Act (A.506) was passed by the New York state Assembly and will now be sent to Gov. Andrew Cuomo to be signed into law. Some highlights include (1)Recognizing that buying children for s*x is child abuse (2)Defending trafficked people from criminal prosecution (3)Strengthening cases against traffickers via wiretaps and (4)Eliminating stigmatizing language. http://www.tvpja.com/

The Student World Affairs Conference welcomes proposals from students of political science, history, philosophy, gender studies, economics, business, and more. This year's conference is on conflict resolution. If you have a paper you would like to present, please submit an abstract of 200-500 words via email to [email protected]. Please note that final papers must be at least five pages in length; there is no page limit, but the presentation time limit of fifteen minutes will be enforced. Deadline for submissions is Feb 7.
