This is my last month running the rescue until further notice… and of course, surprise! My parents found two kittens on their front porch, and how could I possibly say no?

I was able to catch one of them. This little guy’s name is Milo, and he had his first vet appointment yesterday. He’ll be available for adoption in the near future. 💛🐾

Closing Announcement for Clopon’s Safe Haven Rescue

Since officially starting Clopon’s Safe Haven Rescue in 2016, my heart has been full caring for and finding homes for countless cats who needed a second chance. This rescue has been my passion and my dream, but after much prayer and consideration, I’ve made the very difficult decision to close our doors.

The main reason is simple but painful: I no longer have the time or the financial support necessary to continue. While this decision wasn’t made lightly, I know it’s the right one for this season of life.

To everyone who believed in this mission, who donated monthly, volunteered, or adopted—you made all the difference. I am deeply grateful for your support. And a special thank-you to my husband for encouraging me and allowing me to pursue this dream wholeheartedly.

For those asking about the cats currently in my care:

All are barn cats except for one who would do well in a home.

They will remain available for adoption through December of this year.

If they are not adopted, they will become outdoor cats here with me where they will continue to be cared for.

Although Clopon’s Safe Haven is closing, I will keep all of my legal paperwork up to date in case the Lord opens the door for me to return to rescuing in the future.

From the bottom of my heart—thank you for walking this journey with me.

If you would like you give one last donation to help us finish out this year, the link is below.

This is Daisy. This sweet girl came to the rescue as a foster from HVARS. She used to be so afraid of people and was taking a long time to come around. I asked HVARS if I could keep her in my rescue to work on her, and they agreed. She is a vocal girl and loves to just be around someone. Daisy has just recovered from an eye injury, and the doctor said it has healed perfectly. She is ready to be adopted! She gets along with other cats and tolerates dogs. She would also love to be an inside only cat. She loves to outside for a few minutes to explore but loves the safety of being inside.

On July 1st, I noticed Daisy eye looked weird, and she was in pain. I brought her to the vet, and she was given some antibiotics drops. After a week, still no improvement. She was put on different antibiotics drops and a cornea repair gel for her eye. We went for her follow-up appointment, and still no improvement. She was put on a long-lasting antibiotic since giving her drops have been super difficult. On July 29th, she has an appointment with a vet specialist in Brewster.
Her current vet bills have been $350, and then her specialist bill will be $450 just to be seen.

If you are able to help out at all financially, that would be a huge help. Taking care of her is unfortunately running my account dry.
