As the school year comes to a close, many student-athletes are beginning to explore colleges and starting the recruiting process.

We're proud to share that our own Dr. Suzanne Button, Clinical Psychologist, recently collaborated with the Positive Coaching Alliance to develop resources and guidance for caregivers of student-athletes.

These resources help families navigate the recruiting journey by offering strategies for managing pressure, recognizing signs of stress overload, serving as a supportive sounding board, and establishing priorities to help students find the college that is the right fit for their goals.

🎓 Onward and upward!

We are incredibly proud to celebrate one of our youth who recently graduated from Dutchess Community College and is already taking the next step by pursuing a bachelor’s degree this fall.

On Friday, we held a graduation party to recognize this incredible accomplishment and to celebrate all of the hard work that it took.

This achievement is especially significant when you consider that recent studies state only 8–12% of youth with foster care experience earn a two- or four-year college degree by their mid- to late-20s.

Congratulations to them for their perseverance and determination to reach for more! We can't wait to see where your journey takes you next!

Shout out to our June Employee of the Month, Jackie Osorno Barrientos, LTFC Overnight Youth Counselor! 🎉

Since joining the Children's Home in 2021, Jackie has exemplified the positive impact one person can have on an entire team. She consistently sets an example for those around her through her dedication, reliability, and compassion. Whether handling challenging situations with professionalism, supporting coworkers, helping youth, or balancing work while earning her Bachelor's degree with straight A's and pursuing her Master's degree, her work ethic and leadership never go unnoticed.

Thank you, Jackie, for the energy, patience, and heart you bring to the youth we serve and to the overnight team each day. This recognition is well deserved!

Help us celebrate Jackie by sharing your congratulations in the comments below! 👏

Today, we proudly celebrated the official launch of AnchorPoint, our new crisis residence program for youth, with a ribbon cutting attended by approximately 60 local officials, community partners, supporters, board members, and staff. We were honored to welcome Dutchess County Executive Sue Serino, Trevor Redl - Dutchess County Legislator, District 1 , and representatives from Dutchess County Government, the office of Senator Rob Rolison, the office of Assemblymember Didi Barrett, the office of Assemblymember Anil Beephan and the office of Congressman Pat Ryan.

This milestone represents more than five years of planning and collaboration. From intentional program development to extensive renovation to the current site, countless hours were invested to bring this vision to life. AnchorPoint highlights what can happen when community organizations, government leaders, and supporters come together to address the needs of vulnerable youth and families.

Since welcoming its first child in January, AnchorPoint has already served 31 youth and families. The program provides 24/7 care and support from a multidisciplinary team of youth counselors, clinicians, and registered nurses. Youth receive intensive clinical services, including medication management support, individual therapy, and group therapy multiple times each week. Family therapy is also strongly encouraged from the very beginning to help strengthen relationships and support long-term success.

Thank you to everyone who helped make AnchorPoint a reality. Together, we are ensuring youth have a place to turn to when they need it most.
