Friends of Little Italy Poughkeepsie (FLIP) Celebrating Italian Heritage In Downtown Poughkeepsie! Today, that ethnic diversity continues, and a renaissance of this neighborhood is upon us!

For one hundred years, Italian-Americans have called the Mount Carmel Neighborhood "Home", as have many other ethnic groups, such as Irish, German & Poles. Many great things await for the Mt. Carmel Neighborhood, and with new tourists finding their way to Poughkeepsie to visit the Walkway Over The Hudson, an even greater era is not far away!

The 20th Annual Festival of Lights will be held THIS FRIDAY, DECEMBER 6th, beginning on Main Street in Poughkeepsie and ending in Dongan Square Park. On Saturday December 7th will be the 3rd Family Fun Scavenger hunt, come out for this free event and support the neighborhood!

A pastor at St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral deployed huge banners of photographs from a time when Little Italy was a little more Italian to refocus the neighborhood’s San Gennaro festival.
