Dutchess Outreach Largest food security non-profit in Dutchess County

Founded in 1974, the mission of Dutchess Outreach is to act as a catalyst for community revitalization and to exist in Dutchess County as an advocate and provider of hunger and relief programs in order to ensure that everyone, regardless of income, has access to fresh, healthy food, and the support they need. Our programs include:
The Lunch Box (free hot meals served 6 days a week)
Pantry (self-ch

oice shopping and delivery available, open daily 8:30am-4pm)
Children’s Clothing Closet (free, gently used clothes)
Urban Farm & Community Gardens
Mobile Fresh Market (offering affordable produce procured from our urban farm and/or local farm partners to several locations throughout the county)
Acts of Kindness (free housewares)
Case Management (an onsite social worker who provides support for utilities, medication and rent as well as connections to housing, immigration, employment, mental health and addiction services, and education)

Through their commitment to food access, farmer training, and uplifting LGBTQ+ and BIPOC growers, Rock Steady is cultivating more than healthy food—they're growing opportunity, connection, and community.

We were delighted to welcome the Marshall+Sterling interns for a day of volunteering, learning, and community engagement.

Throughout the day, they worked alongside our team, preparing meals, supporting Pantry operations, and gaining a firsthand look at the work that goes into ensuring our neighbors have access to nourishing food and compassionate support.

Experiences like these are a powerful reminder that community care is a shared responsibility—and that the next generation of leaders is already stepping up in meaningful ways.

Thank you to Marshall + Sterling and this incredible group of interns for spending the day with us. We loved sharing our mission, our work, and the impact that happens when people come together in service of one another. 💙

Join us this Thursday, June 18, at the Family Partnership Center for our Farm Stand, starting at 9 AM until we run out of food. The Pantry will be open that day from 10 AM–3 PM.

June is National Dairy Month, and we're raising a glass of milk to our friends at Hudson Valley Fresh🐮🥛💚

Every month, Hudson Valley Fresh donates thousands of cartons of fresh, local milk to Dutchess Outreach, helping connect neighbors with nutritious dairy while supporting our regional food system.

We're especially grateful to this incredible cooperative of local dairy farmers and were honored to recognize them at our recent Gala for their longstanding commitment to our community. Their generosity helps nourish neighbors and strengthens the connections that make the Hudson Valley such a special place to call home.
