Largest food security non-profit in Dutchess County

Founded in 1974, the mission of Dutchess Outreach is to act as a catalyst for community revitalization and to exist in Dutchess County as an advocate and provider of hunger and relief programs in order to ensure that everyone, regardless of income, has access to fresh, healthy food, and the support they need. Our programs include:
The Lunch Box (free hot meals served 6 days a week)
Pantry (self-ch

oice shopping and delivery available, open daily 8:30am-4pm)
Children’s Clothing Closet (free, gently used clothes)
Urban Farm & Community Gardens
Mobile Fresh Market (offering affordable produce procured from our urban farm and/or local farm partners to several locations throughout the county)
Acts of Kindness (free housewares)
Case Management (an onsite social worker who provides support for utilities, medication and rent as well as connections to housing, immigration, employment, mental health and addiction services, and education)

It doesn't get much more local than this. 🥬

This week, our friends at Eden Share donated 60 pounds of fresh lettuce to help stock our Pantry and nourish guests at our Lunch Box.

Located right here on the Family Partnership Center campus, Eden Share uses regenerative growing practices to produce healthy food while promoting physical and emotional wellness for individuals and communities. Their work is a reminder that nourishing people and caring for the land go hand in hand.

We're grateful for this ongoing relationship and for the fresh produce that helps connect more neighbors to healthy, nourishing food. 🌱💚

We’re rooting for fresh food this National Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Month! 🥕🌱

This month, we’re celebrating the colorful produce that helps nourish our community—and we’re especially proud to partner with local farmers and growers who help make that possible.

From leafy greens to rainbow carrots, fresh food does more than fill plates. It connects neighbors to nourishment, strengthens our local food system, and helps build a healthier, more resilient community.

That’s something worth rooting for. 💚

Lettuce give it up for these awesome volunteers 🥬 💚

Recently, students from Arlington Central School District joined us at our Farm Stand to help share fresh produce with our community.

Farm Stand days take a lot of hands, a lot of teamwork, and a shared commitment to making sure neighbors have access to fresh, nourishing food.

This is what community care looks like. 🫶

Please take note of the upcoming holiday schedule changes across our programs: 💚

On Friday, The Pantry will be closed, but we will hold our regularly scheduled Farm Stand outside The Lunch Box entrance beginning at 9AM until we run out of food.

The Lunch Box will be open for lunch service only on Friday — there will be no dinner service that evening.

There will be no lunch service on Sunday.

All Dutchess Outreach programs will be closed on Monday in observance of the holiday.

Last week, more than 400 guests joined us at The Grandview in Poughkeepsie for our Roots of Resilience Gala—an evening grounded in community, connection, and fellowship—as we honored Dutchess County Executive Sue Serino; Dutchess Outreach volunteer Dave Lowe; Freedom Plains United Presbyterian Church; Hudson Valley Fresh; and Brooklyn Packers & NY Foodways Gathering Co-Founder Steph Wiley.

The night was more than just an event—it was a reflection of who we are as a community. A room full of people who believe that care should be consistent, dignity should be the standard, and that showing up for one another matters. Together, we gathered to celebrate and to be reminded of what’s possible when neighbors come together with care and intention.

Because of this community, this work continues—steady, responsive, and rooted in dignity for every neighbor we serve. So that when someone walks through our doors, they find not just food, but connection, respect, and a pathway forward.

Rain or shine, this community always delivers. 📬💙

This weekend, volunteers and letter carriers helped stamp out hunger and stock our Pantry shelves through the annual Stamp Out Hunger® Food Drive — sorting donations, filling shelves, and helping ensure more neighbors have access to nourishing food.

And to every neighbor who left food by their mailbox: thank you for showing up for your community in such a meaningful way. Because of you, our shelves are fuller, and more families will have the support they need in the days ahead.
