Thanks to Vassar and the African American Alumnae/i of Vassar College for inviting CAS to speak at the kickoff of their Black History Month festivities. CAS co-chair, Carmen McGill talked about the founding of CAS and our current mission, including a marker honoring enslaved Africans and their descendants. There was lots of great food, libations, and music, too!

Wishing everyone a Happy Kwanzaa and happy holidays!!

Here are some photos from the Kwanzaa CAS celebrated earlier this month! We gathered and reflected with a yummy potluck- a fun way to practice Kwanzaa's principles.

Thanks to Mayor Flowers and River Haven folks for attending, and to Liz O'Raffity's Growing Stemz for providing a Kwanzaa photo booth, and an immersive VR headset, where we experienced MLK's impacts and inequalities that persist and require our attention today.

Another thanks to all who could contribute to our CAS Marker Project this year!!

As we approach the quarter of the century, let's continue to learn and grow from the principles of Kwanzaa.
