Hello friends. I wanted to let you know that this Sunday the Potwin UM youth are hosting a potato bar fund raiser immediately following morning worship. The meal will begin at 12:00 noon in the basement of the church or as soon as we can get that long-winded pastor to pipe down. If you would like a carry out meal you can call Melvina Jones at 620-752-3577 during the week to place an order or the church on Sunday at 620-752-3656 between 12:00 and 1:00 p.m. We hope you join us for lunch and, if you don't already have a church home, for morning worship at 11:00 a.m. The cost to you is a free will donation. -Pastor Keith (the long winded one)

Hello friends. Just a reminder that the season of Lent began yesterday with the observance of Ash Wednesday. Lent is a time of somber reflection. It is a time to reflect on our need for a Savior, to remember what God has done for us in Christ, and to consider the work that Christ has ahead for us. This Sunday we will begin a Lenten preaching series at Potwin UMC and invite you to attend our in person services or join us on Facebook. We begin at 11:00 a.m. The series is entitled "Lessons from the Mountaintop" and looks at events on six mountains that have notable ramifications for God's people. The mountains we will be discussing are 2/21 - Mt. Ararat; 2/28 - Mt. Moriah; 3/7 - Mt. Sinai; 3/14 - Mt. Nebo; 3/21 - Mt. Carmel; and March 28 - Mt. Olivet.

Hello friends. Due to the extreme cold forecast for Sunday, we have decided keep the church building closed. I will be doing a live broadcast of a brief worship, with prayer, the reading of Scripture, and a message. It is Transfiguration Sunday and the text for this week will be Mark 9:1-9 and the sermon title will be "A Morning Hike". I hope you can join us. There will be a little thought activity that you might find interesting. Stay safe and warm and we'll see you soon. God bless you. I'll be broadcasting at 9:00 a.m. if you want to join us live.

Hi friends. Wanted you all to know there will be a pot luck fellowship dinner after worship on Sunday in the basement of the church to be followed by an administrative council meeting. Hope you're enjoying the Lord's love today. -Pastor Keith
