Great job STC South and all competitors!!

The Schuylkill County Clean-up Competition was resurrected this spring. Originally created in 2014 by the STC South Youth Summit Club and their Advisor Mr. Gary Hess II, the competition has not been held since prior to COVID in the spring of 2019. As in the past groups of 9 students from local high schools cleaned an area of excessive litter for 3 hours. They received supplies from SKIP (Schuylkill Keep It Pretty), they took before, during, and after pictures and designed a presentation to be judged with a grading rubric to determine which team had the biggest impact on the local environment. We had teams from 6 schools participate in this year’s event including: Minersville, Nativity, Pottsville, Shenandoah Valley, STC North and STC South. All teams did a great job, but there can only be 1 winner. This year’s Schuylkill County Clean-up Competition Champions are STC South who cleaned an area in St. Clair near the Coal Creek Shopping Plaza. The Students of Schuylkill County and SKIP remind you to please dispose of your refuse properly in order to help keep our area clean for future generations to enjoy.

Good job STC South🚮🚮

On Tuesday, March 31, 2026, the STC South Youth Summit Club spent a few hours cleaning up litter around Sch. Haven’s Island Park and its walking trail. The students filled 9 bags and collected over 40 #’s of litter.

They send a friendly reminder that we can ALL help keep our public spaces clean by simply placing our garbage in proper can and/or picking up that piece of litter you see rather than just walking by.
