The Lima Charlie Project is a start up nonprofit organization with three primary missions. To provide affordable housing, employment opportunities, and business start-up assistance for the veteran community while at the same time assisting in the revitalization of the local community. The Lima Charlie Project is being started by Jonathan Bittner, an Army veteran and Nicholas Franz, an Air Force ve
teran. Because both of us have struggled with many issues that veterans struggle with upon separation from the military. We hear what the veteran community needs and wants "Loud and Clear". By identifying these struggles we decided that we want to give back and support both the veteran community and help build and revitalize the local community. The money being raised will go toward the start-up costs to begin operating as a nonprofit organization. This includes but is not limited to all government fees, lawyer fees, literature, acquisition of an office space, and minimal office furnishings. These funds will allow us to begin operations and operate for three months. During these three months we will be soliciting both large and small businesses for charitable contributions and performing fundraising events to really get the cause moving forward. Affordable housing
LCP’s mission is to provide affordable housing and will start with the procurement of houses that require repair, work with a contractor to repair the home to above livable conditions, and then sell the home to a veteran in need, with a in house rent to own system. After screening of potential candidates, the home will be rented for three years. Moneys paid in rent, minus property taxes, if applicable, and insurance will be deducted from the balance of the home. At the end of the three-year period, the candidate will then procure their own financial means and purchase the home at the remaining balance. This will not only allow the participant to become a homeowner at well below market value but allow them to get back on their feet. By us reclaiming our investment we will be able to keep reinvesting the funds, helping out even more veterans. Employment opportunities
LCP will work closely with business owners in the local community to provide employment opportunities to veterans. Business owners can contact us when opportunities arise and we will supply them with eligible candidates. LCP will provide resume writing services as well as job placement services. Business start-up services
LCP will work with inspiring veteran entrepreneurs in becoming business owners. Eligible candidates will have to pitch their business concept to the board of directors for approval. Once approved candidates will be offered financial assistance, as well as resources to succeed while growing their business. Loans will be interest free and payments will be determined on a case-by-case base not to exceed five years. Additional Services
LCP is not limited to the services above. LCP will provide assistance with the VA matters, making homes handicap accessible to disabled veterans, and other reasonable issues that may arise.
